I woke up to Liam's strong arm around me. His warmth kept me from freezing beneth the huge comforter and sheets. Although it's very warm under them. Liam nudged me as he woke up, turning me over to face him. Smiling, I whispered, "Good morning, handsome." He groaned into his pillow, faintly smiling.
"I'm not that handsome," Liam commented.
"Said no One Direction fan ever," I immediately responded. That statement made him blush, so I kissed his nose before he asked what I wanted for breakfast. "Hm, how about pancakes!" He nodded and got up to go make them. Once he was gone, I snuck to the room that held everything we bought yesterday. Liam left the computer scans on all night, so I thought I should check on them.
There was a faint beeping sound coming from the Mac furthest away from me. Why are you beeping, I thought. Pressing the space bar caused the lock screen light up. I typed in the simple twelve letter passcode.
LiamAndDarcy
"How original," I joked as I searched the computer. The beeping was still sounding, but I couldn't figure out what it was for. Or even what it was from. I heard Liam call for me so I quickly got up and walked down the stairs. The aroma of chocolate, syrup and pancake batter filled my nose. "Liam, that smells so good!"
"Thanks, babe." Liam turned to smile at me quickly. "They're almost done." I smiled happily and walked over to my cellphone which was laying on the coffee table in the living space. "Noticed it was charged so I unplugged it." It was sort of weird how he knew what I was thinking about. "Oh, and if I recall correctly, you had a text message." I furrowed my eyebrows and pressed the little black circular button. The once black screen lit up revealing the truth. It was from dad. I slid the message to the right and it unlocked.
I love you, Mini. See you soon. Dad.
That was strange. My dad never calls me Mini unless he's doing worse. Matter of fact, he never tells me he loves me anymore. "Who was it," Liam asked causing me to jump. "Sorry." I shook my head and walked over to the couch to sit down.
"It was dad." I took my plate of chocolate chip pancakes and started nibbling on them. Liam sat next to me and turned on the tv. There was nothing but news on and a rare telemarketing here and there, so we ended up eating in complete silence. It wasn't usual, but I overlooked it quickly because I didn't want to cause an argument that wasn't needed.
"If you're finished, I'll take your plate," Liam commented. I handed him my plate and I grabbed the remote. "Be right back. Nature's calling." I shook my head, letting a giggle escape my lips. As he ran off, I flipped through the channels, listening to about five seconds of everything. One word caught me and arrested me.
Styles.
Immediately, I stopped what I was doing and set the remote back down. "That's right, Emily. Ten years ago yesterday Harry Styles lost his soon to be wife, Sharissa Colt. And as I was looking into this, I noticed that Twitter went wild. Yesterday around noon, the hashtag RedForRis reached the top of the trending list. A couple tweets said quote '@harrystyles keep your head up' and 'don't worry boys, she's still out there @onedirection #RedForRis'" The screen cut to pictures of the tweets and then pictures of my mom. They jerked my heartstrings, pulling tears along with them. My mom was so beautiful with her long curly blonde hair and her gorgeous eyes and smile. There was one picture I loved the most. It must've been before I was born because my mom and dad were in an airport kissing each other. "No one understood why she suddenly disappeared, but I know One Direction hasn't given up hope."
I let my head fall to my hands as my elbow accidentally pressed the power button. Tears rolled down my cheeks and left streaks on my face. "Babe," Liam questioned as he rushed over to me and bent down in front of me. "Shh, love, tell me what happened." My mom, my mind screamed at him. Liam turned the tv back on to hear the remaining bits of the cast.
