The humdrum of chit chat filled the blacked out carriage as the elite vampire's delighted in the superior service of first class,

"Anything after 2010 tastes like dirt" one stuffy brunette woman commented to her travel companion opposite.

She swirled her cocktail glass and sipped the thick ruby liquid with pleasure before adjusting her elaborate, white fur collared, black coat to avoid any spillages.

Her suited, male travel partner looked at his shot glass of blood and picked it up for inspection,

"The 2011 Icelandic range is quite nice. Very crisp and fresh but you are right, anything before 2011 in the virgin vintage is priceless" he remarked before downing the shot of Icelandic blood as he shuddered in delight.

He slicked his cropped gelled hair back in exhilaration and twitched his Houdini styled moustache, to ensure no blood remained.

Other booths of travellers ordered copious amounts of drinks as the conversations flowed and ranged from their tastes in different beverages to what they need to do when they got to the end destination.

My head screamed with questions and escape plans as I stayed silent, observant and vigilant.

I counted each time the train pulled into a station to get an idea of how far away I was from where I boarded as my captors continued to talk about what Tynan had planned for the next few days and what would be expected of the troll.

The train ended its journey after five stops and came to a screeching halt.

Tynan stood up first and walked out of the packed space first, gliding past an array of bows and curtsies from respectful passengers greeting him as he disembarked the heaving carriage.

"Ladies and Gentleman, you may now disembark the train. Please ensure you take all your belongings with you and have a great night" a voice bellowed from the speakers in the corner of each room.

The passengers waited for us to depart before rushing onto the platform and headed in our direction,

"Hold your breath and do not struggle" Tynan warned.

He grabbed my arm and walked towards a large gothic styled arch at the right hand side of the platform.

The large black archway was the length and width of the platform with jagged designs on the border which created a sense of unease,

"What is through there?" I asked nervously.

The pair chuckled at my inability to see through the pitch black void,

"Home" Tynan replied bluntly as he pulled me through the dark cavity without warning.

My body shivered in terror acting as a forewarning of what was to come.

Shadows appeared from the gloom, screeching into my ears and grabbing at my clothes.

I opened my mouth to scream but nothing came out except a small, shimmering ball of light.

I jumped back in amazement as the unknown object slithered up through my throat and shot out of my quivering mouth as it stopped in mid-air before my face.

The cool sensation remained in my throat like static energy, crackling and humming, wondering where the cause of the electrical charge had gone but the shimmering ball of light just pulsated in front of me, attracting more shadows from behind,

"Master, do you see that?" the troll gasped as his voice screeched with excitement from in front.

It was too dark to see anyone but I could sense others around me getting closer to us by the second and I knew this mysterious ball of light was the cause of their intrigue,

"Yes, I can see it. Let's get her to the manor before she causes any more attention to us" Tynan quickly instructed.

He dragged me through the dark void with urgency as the light followed, never moving from around my head.

Gusts of wind blew from all around me as I could feel the others try to grab and capture the small glowing sphere,

"Get ready" Tynan whispered.

My body began to feel light and out of my control as a powerful entity hit my chest and sucked me forward, knocking the wind from my lungs and sent me hurtling forward and out of the dark vortex.

I was violently spat out of the tunnel and went hurtling onto the dry and rugged floor of the end destination as my head hit the floor and everything turned to black again,

"Not the vortex again" I cried.

My head was ringing from the impact of the ground as I squinted my eyes and looked into the distance.

The small ball of light had come back but this time there was someone following it.

The outline shimmered with white sparkling flecks as the stranger got closer and bent down to the floor.

It was a man.

Actually, it was a teenage boy but apart from observing that he was tall, possibly between 5'11 to 6'2 with platinum blonde cropped hair and may have had an athletic build, my eyes could not detect any other distinguishing features due to the blinding white light that was omitting from his body,

"I'm not a vampire. Please don't kill me" I begged.

I held my head in agony and felt a trickle of blood drip onto my hand.

I prayed he wasn't a vampire and tried to conceal the large gash with my palm, in the hope the smell would not tempt him further.

The stranger knelt down and slowly pulled my head onto his knees.

My body began to tremble in horror and I braced myself for another brutal attack,

"I know you're not a vampire and I would never harm you Lucia but they will if they find out about you, so please try to maintain your fear and do not show your inner light again otherwise we will not be able to help you" he warned.

Before I could ask him what he was talking about, a beautiful tingling feeling swept across my brow and distracted my attention,

"What are you doing?" I muttered, lost in the soothing sensation.

I raised my hand to inspect my wound but there was nothing there,

"How did you -" I stammered in amazement.

The concealed stranger chuckled and helped to my feet,

"I have to go now but I will be back in touch. Just remember maintain your fear and do not reveal the light again. They cannot know any more than they already know. We are not ready yet" he riddled,

"What do you mean? Who is we? I think you're mistaking me for someone else. Wait. Come back" I yelled but it was too late.

He was gone.

I looked around for the puzzling visitor but could only see swirls of blurry images piercing the darkness as my consciousness slowly returned,

"Luci! Luci!" a familiar voice yelled,

"Don't worry, I'm not dead. You still have a bounty to take to your father" I groaned in dismay.

I reluctantly opened my eyes and saw Tynan over me, looking at my head with surprise,

"Your wound as gone?" he remarked.

I rubbed my brow and felt my smooth forehead instead of a bloody torn laceration. I smiled with delight as I looked up to the sky to see a blood moon beaming it's scarlet rays back at me and I knew that even though my next destination would severely test my skills of survival, a glimmer of hope flashed behind my eyes as I felt I was not alone on this deadly journey.
