Hi guys!! sorry that updates have been sparatic lately but school has been absolutely insane. I have to write this other paper for another class on the side and its due by friday so i have to get my butt moving on that. But you know procrastination is fun aswell. So ON WITH THE CHAPTERRRRR>>>>
----------------
Makenna's POV

"Do we have to go back today?" I whined.
"Yes we do," he said handing me a coffee.
"But couldnt we just like miss the rest of the week? I mean holiday break is at the end of the week, so why don't we just stay home and get an early start on decorating?" I asked, trying my hardest to convince him.
"No, love. If we miss all this week then we'll get a load of makeup work. I don't know about you but I'd rather spend my holiday stuffing my face." He opened the door and gestured for me to go out.
I pouted and stepped out into the snow. The snow stuck to my converse and left water drops. I quickly got in the truck so I wouldnt turn into a popsicle. Robbie had already turned the heat on before we got in, to which I was very grateful for. Robbie got in moments later on the drivers side and we were off.
"I forgot to ask, how does your eye feel today?" Robbie said after a few moments.
"Meh, it dosen't hurt anymore. Unless of course you like, poke it hard," I said touching my bruised face.
"Hey at least it's not as, um, colorful," he said trying to make me feel better. I giggled at the choice of wording.
"Yeah, thats a good thing I guess."
After a few moments of silence, I turned my head to look out the window. The ground had a blanket of blinding white snow and all the trees and bushes had a powdering of snow that looked like powdered sugar. I turned my head to Robbie who had his eyes focused on the road. His bright forest green eyes. It reminded me of the site looking out from our treehouse, with all the trees and leaves. The light from the sky made his eyes look almost like they were glowing. It was so pretty I didn't want to look away.
Robbie's eyes soon turned to me for a brief moment but quickly returned to the road. He raised an eyebrow.
"See something you like?" He asked smirking. I snapped out of it. A blush rose on my cheeks making my face hot. Why was I blushing? I dont blush, what the hell? I chuckled awkwardly.
"Um, what? N-no. I was just observing your, um eyes," I said, attempting not to sound super creepy. Robbie chuckled and shook his head.
"So you fancy my eyes?" He laughed.
"Uh yeah, sure," I said unsure. Again, he laughed an shook his head.
"You're so adorable," he chuckled, but then his face went white and eyes wide. My face was on fire and was probubly as red as a firetruck. He coughed awkwardly.
"Um, thanks," I laughed nervously and turned to face forward.
He hasn't ever called me adorable before. Why did he decide to use that adjective now? Why couldnt he use funny or interesting? It probubly means nothing. Its probubly just an innocent thing. Yeah, its nothing. My brain is really stupid sometimes. The rest of the car ride was quiet. When we get in the cafeteria we sit at our table. We greeted the guys and they welcomed us back.
"Woah, Kenna! You're eye!" Alex exclaims.
"I know, I know, pretty awesome battlescar," I say acting as if I was bragging. The guys shook their heads and laughed at my stupidity.
"So what did you guys do the two days you skipped?" Andy asked smirking. I felt Robbie kick him from under the table causing Andy to grasp his leg.
"We just hung out," I laughed. I glanced at Robbie to see him giving Andy a death glare.
Me and Robbie joked around and we all talked about random stuff. I couldnt help but constantly think about if my hair looked okay or if my clothes were okay. Every time Robbie smiled or laughed my stomach did backflips and made me smile. I made a mental note to ask Mum about this when she comes back.
--
Most of my classes had a ton of makeup work for me. They were at least nice and gave me until after holiday break to get it done. I head to my next class which is by far my favorite, art class. I stop at my locker to grab my sketchbook and pencils. I hear footsteps and a bang on the locker next to mine causing me to turn quickly. I see a smirking Andy leaning on the locker. I scowl at him playfully and shut my locker. He follows behind me as I walk to the art room.
"So," he started keeping a mischievious smirk.
"What?" I asked slightly scared.
"You were acting a bit strange around Robbie today," he said in a teasing voice. "Something you wanna share? Hmm?" I groaned in irritation.
"No Andy. For the twenty thousandth time, we are just friends," I said irritated.
"Are you sure?" He said poking my side. I huffed and sped up toward the art room, taking a random seat. Andy sat right next to me. I pulled out my sketchbook and started working on the project we were working on. We had to incorperate our hands in a different environment. I'm drawing my hand as a sort of mountain with people climbing up it and clouds around the top. It was coming out quite well.
"I'm just saying Kenna, you were acting a bit strange. One would almost say flirty?" He giggled. My head shot up and I smacked him in the arm. "Someones getting defensive," he laughed. I sighed and rolled my eyes.
"It's okay if you like him you know," he said in a less teasing tone. "Cause you guys are like soulmates."
"But I don't, and no we're not," I said.
"Really?"
"Really."
"So you dont get butterflies in your somach whenever he laughes or smiles?" He asks. I freeze for a moment but snap out of it quickly.
"No," I lie.
"Alright. You don't feel the need to always look alright?" He asked again. My heart began to beat faster.
"No," I lied again.
"So you don't think about him all the time? About his laugh, his smile? You don't get a constant urge to hug him? You don't find yourself staring at him without realizing?" He got closer with each question. My heart dropped with realization and I began to sweat a bit. Mind swirled and heart pounded. I turned to Andy with wide eyes.
Andy looked back at me with understanding eyes. I shook my head repeatedly. No! No, I can't like him! He's my best friend!
"So, I'm guessing I was right?" He asked smiling. I sighed and put my head in my hands.
"This can't be happening," I sighed.
"It's okay that you like him Kenna," he reassured me putting a hand on my shoulder.
"No its not. This could potentially ruin our friendship big time!" I groaned.
"Worse comes to worse things are just awkward."
"You're not helping!" I snap.
"Just ask him," he shrugged.
"Easy for you to say, dingus!" I say waving my hands around.
"Okay, take a chill pill. Alright? Now trust me on this, you wont know untill you ask him right?" I nodded in response. "Alright then just ask him. Simple as that."
It really was an easy thing to do. Just form a question using your voice and mouth. The hard part is realizing this question could potentially ruin our whole friendship. This question could also potentially start something great. But I'll never know untill I ask. It's a 50- 50 chance which is slightly terrifying.
"When do I ask him?" I ask.
"Maybe around holiday?" Andy suggested. "That way it gives the both of you some time to think things over and work things out if needed." I nodded and took a deep breath trying to calm down.
"Thanks a ton Andy," I said smiling and wrapped him in a hug.
"Hey now, get to work you two," Ms. James, the art teacher said smiling. We both complied and continued on our work.
------------
As I walked to Robbie's truck after school, Andy shot me a thumbs up and an encouraging smile. It was quite funny how he was so excited about me liking Robbie. I don't know what he's so giddy about though. It might not even work out.
I hopped in the truck and Robbie was sitting there smiling at me.
"Ready?" He asked.
"Ready Freddie!" I said. I mentally facepalming at my choice of wording. Robbie chuckled and drove off.
I began to mentally plan out how I was going to tell Robbie. This was going to be quite eventful.
