Makenna's POV
"I legit can't even!" I laughed at Emily over the phone.
"You guys are so cute together though!" She giggled.
"But you and Andy though!" I laughed. I heard her giggle on the other end.
"Oh boys, you gotta love them."
"I know right," I laughed.
I heard a knock on the door downstairs.
"Gotta go bro, someones at the door," I said.
"Oooh! Is it your prince Robbie coming to sweep you off your feet?" She teased.
"Shut up!" I laughed and hung up.
I answered the door, and sure enough, Robbie was behind it. He was grinning like a fool.
"Hey!" He said. "I wan't to take you somewhere."
"Okay," I said smiling. I slipped on my converse and walked out with him.
We walked down the street.
It feels nice walking with him again. Things are also really peaceful.
I feel so relieved. Like a giant weight has been lifted off my shoulders. I no longer feel shameful for keeping this big secret from him.
He led me by the hand to somewhere I had never been before. I grew curious and continued to walk with great interest.
He led me to a park. It was a quiet place. There was beautiful green grass and trees with all of its bright green leaves on the trees. A small pond in the middle of the park. Colorful bright flowers around the edge of the park. How have I never been here before? It's like a piece of heaven had fallen down to the earth.
My eyes grew wide at the sight of the lovely patch of fallen heaven.
"I found this place a few months ago and I sorta decided to keep it to myself," He smiled. We continued to walk along the sidewalk to the park.
The grass under my feet felt soft. I looked around in awe. I looked up at Robbie to find him staring at me with a wide grin spread across his face. He bent down and picked a yellow flower. He turned to me and placed the stem behind my ear so the flower was placed nicely sticking out of my hair. He stepped back to observe his handy work. There was a bright sparkle in his eyes. He grinned from ear to ear before placing a kiss on my forehead. My cheeks heat up and I cover my face.
We continue to walk, hand in hand, until we reach the edge of the pond. I sit down while Robbie picks up a handful of rocks and one by one tossed them into the pond. I observed him as he tried to skip the stones.
"Never could do this," He laughed.
"Who really can?" I said. He nodded, smiling in agreement.
He sat down with me on the grass. I looked up at the clouds, at the trees, at the pond, the beautiful day. It almost seemed like today was planned to be perfect. Just for us.
"So what did you do when you came here?" I asked.
"Thought," He said simply.
"You just sat here ant thought?"
"Yeah."
"Oh, about what?" I asked.
"Life. Situations I was going through. Fantasizing on what could be."
I nodded in understanding.
"I used to want to have spots where I could be alone. Then my parents pursued their careers and I was always alone. I was happy that they did what they wanted to, I just was sad that I was alone," I said.
"But you had me, right?" He asked slightly hopeful.
"Yeah, you helped alot," I laughed. I stared down at the grass In thought. When I looked up I found Robbie staring at me intently. I smiled sweetly up at him.
He smiled back down at me. He continued to stare into my eyes. As my heart raced, face heated up, world disappeared, Robbie closed the space between us. I never thought I could be this content. Everything felt perfect. I don't know what I did to ever deserve him. To ever have the amazing privilege of him walking into my life.
We pulled away moments later. I stared at him for a moment, taking in everything about him. I then wrapped my arms around his torso and held him close to me, buying my head into his neck. I never wanted to lose him or let him go. I breathed in his scent of pine, moss, and his cologne. He wrapped his arms around my torso and held me.
Do you ever get this feeling that you just need to hug a person? You never want to let go in fear of them disappearing like they do in your dreams. That is exactly what this hug was.
"So," He whispered. "How long do you think we'll be together for?" He smiled. I pulled away and smiled up at him.
"I'm going for... forever?" I said hesitantly. Robbie laughed. His head tilting back and his eyes crincling. His laugh made me smile and my heart race.
"Forever huh?" He laughed. I nodded, blushing. "Okay," He nodded, slinging his arm around my shoulder.
"Huh?"
"Well I couldn't imagine myself with anyone else. You're my best friend," He said smiling.
"Y-you really mean that?" I asked shocked.
"Of course I do, love."
I grabbed him by the collar and smashed my lips on to his. He smiled and kissed me back. I pulled away moments later for breath.
"I can do forever," I laughed.
