This Is Living

I lifted my gun and shot two bullets at the police officer. The gun fired about six shots at the speed of light. She instantly fell to her knees and dropped on her face.
It made me wonder if she had any family at home. That her kids would find out that someone killed their mother, and I would sit at the other end knowing it was me. But yet again, I don't care.
How could the world go round with me dead? It wasn't my time to go and I wasn't going to except death. Not yet.
I drug Cameron's body all the way to the car and hoisted his body in. I took off my shirt to cover his bullet hole. It was located at the bottom of his shoulder and was bleeding out persistently.
There were moans of pain coming from Cameron's mouth. I comforted him, "it's okay baby I got you."
I placed my t-shirt on his shoulder and wrapped it around his arm to cut off circulation. I went over to the trunk and threw the money bags in.Then, I quickly ran to the other side of the car and started the ignition.
I know how to drive, I've just never gotten my license. I've said I was going to, to all my friends but it's something I've never gotten the chance to getting around to doing.
I pulled out of the parking lot while simultaneously pulling off my mask and throwing it in the back seat. I did the same for Cameron.
He finally got up from slouching in his seat and looked at me with the most awkwardest, painful smile, "Is your heart racing babe?"
I realized that it was. In fact it was racing so fast, I got to feel what living felt like and I wasn't ready to stop just yet.
"Yes it is!" I laughed and leaned in to kiss him with loads of excitement.
"That was fucking awesome!" Cameron added brushing his hair out of his face with his one good arm, and tossed his jacked he had on to me. I slipped it over my shoulders.
I had to get Cameron to a hospital because he was hit pretty bad. He couldn't move his arm and the blood was coming through the shirt I had wrapped around it.
I debated which hospital would be best to go to and it ended up being the closest one because we didn't have much time. It was just ironic that it happened to be the St.Mercy hospital.
Bit was still intimidating and looking like a castle. Just dark, and lit up by random office lights inside and street lights outside.
We hustled our way through the emergency room doors. Cameron was propped onto my shoulder. It looked kind of ridiculous considering how big he was compared to me.
All the nurses rushed over and took Cameron into heir care. They laid him on a gurney and took him off into the back. I decided to walk on the side of him all the way to his room where we waited for a doctor.
It ended up not being long before one walked right through the door, "Hello my name is doctor Murphy. I've come to check out what here seemed to be a bullet wound. I'm gonna need you to fill out these papers." He handed them to me.
I guess me must have assumed we were brothers because usually if you are not related your not allowed to touch the hospital forms of someone else.
"Now can I get a story on what happened here?" The doctor gave up a glare.
"Sir now is not a good time. I am in so much pain, could this wait?" Cameron immediately spoke up.
I was so glad he said something because I had not thought of a single thing to say. The doctor just looked at me and then Cameron, "Farewell. Well shall get started on you immediately."
The doctor left for a few moments before an abundance of nurses spilled in the room and began to wheel him out, "they are going to need you at the front desk." The doctor added.
I took the clip board of papers I was handed and sat down in the waiting room and filled them out. Most of them were easy questions I could answer like his date of birth and what happened. Some asked about his parents information, and his insurance.
Insurance, I thought to myself. I remembered that I had on his jacket which should have his wallet in it. I hurrying searched for pockets and found the one with his wallet in it.
As soon as I touched his wallet my fingers instantly gripped it and pulled it out. It was a dark leather wallet and was filled so much it couldn't even close.
I flipped it open to find all the random live letters I wrote to him back when we were in school. I scurried through them all and a couple of random pet store cards till I eventually found his insurance card. I wrote down his information.
"This is everything." I handed the woman at the front desk the clipboard with papers on it and the pen I was given.
I went to go sit back down and wait for Cameron to get out of surgery. I couldn't believe any of this was happening. I wondered what everyone at school would think if they found out about all of this. Does this make us cool kids or what?
I waited for about another hour and then Mr.Murphy finally approached me, "Cameron is done with surgery. You can see him now in room 112."
I made sure nothing got in my way when getting to that room. I walked right in and sat down next to him. He was still asleep from the numbing medicine. I rubbed his ear and started at his unconscious face.
He looked so calm and at peace, until his eyes opened. Then it was something more. He finally spoke, "Hey baby." His voice was so sexy.
"How you feeling?" I proceeded to ask.
"Much, much, better." He gave me a wide smile.
We both looked at each other for a few brief moments until we both busted out laughing, "Babe I can't believe we pulled that off." He chuckled.
I finished laughing and kissed his forehead just as the doctor walked in. He gave us a very threatening look.
"Now can I ask how the bullet wounds happened?" He flipped on the small T.V that sat in the corner of the room, that had the news playing right on it.
Me and Cameron both stared in shock as we watched the news anchor speak at the other end of the screen, "Sunshine Rim bank was Sao to be robbed. There were a total of five killings, on a hostage and the other three being security guards and the last a police officer. We don't have any of the names of the victims just yet. It was said that one of the robbers had been shot-" the doctor shit off the T.V.
"Oh don't bother trying to escape the police have already been called." He shut the door to the room behind him and guarded the door.
Cameron instantly jumped to his feet and grabbed the unused I-V bar and slammed it into the doctors head, knocking him right out.
I kicked out the window of the room we were in to get out. Luckily we were on the first floor. Cameron and I took off for the car. His gown ended up flying off as he was running, leaving him bear naked.
Once we got to the car I hurried the keys into the ignition, "Awe shit babe, I feel that feeling again!" Excitement took over my body.
Cameron looked at me and smiled, "Hell yeah! This is living!"
I was about to pull out of the hospital parking lot when tons of police cars rushed in. They didn't see us, or assume we were the issue so I proceeded to leave.
"Where are we suppose to go?" Cameron asked, "And I need some clothes."
"Well we can't go to your house because your dad is crazy about his alarms and they just might go off." I said as Cameron thought.
"Wait I spent the night at your house last night, I have a change of clothes there." I set my route for home.
I was hoping my mother and sister would be asleep by then so I didn't disturb their peace. I decided it would be better off that I leave without them knowing, just to make my death a mystery.
Soon we were pulling right into my neighborhood. I decided to park a couple houses down so I wouldn't wake any of my family. After all it is pretty late and we've had a long day.
After I parked the car I told Cameron to stay in because I would only be quick. I jogged my way to my drive way and began walking up the side of the house to my bedroom window.
I climbed up a tree and skid my room window open throwing my self through and onto my bed.
It was pitch black and I couldn't see a thing. I felt around on the side of my bed where Cameron usually leaves his bag.
"I know it was you." A familiar voice gracefully made it way into my ear.
