Prologue
I ran.
I was out of breath, but I ran.
Don't let him catch you, I told myself.
Somehow, I knew he would no matter how fast I ran. He was the Empire State Building compared to my height of 4'3".
I heard him breathing behind me, along with his footsteps, so I pushed my legs harder. I was terrified. What was he going to do to me?
I felt his large hand curl around my arm. I screamed. Not that it would help. I had been chased into the middle of a very creepy forest in the middle of the night.
I kept screaming, no matter.
"Shut the hell up! No one's gonna hear you anyway," he said, his voice low and gravely, just like I remembered.
I remember him?
"Let me go!" I screamed. He didn't listen. No, actually, he didn't care. He kept on walking, almost killing me with his arm curled around my chest, not letting any air flow correctly through my lungs.
His breathing was heavy and I could smell the alcohol. He was very drunk by the way he was walking.
"You're hurting me!" I yelled. Now that part I don't think he cared about.
He flung me in the back of his car. My head hit the window on the other side. Hard.
Everything went black.
