Call me gross but Cian and I ended up sharing some antiseptic which makes me nearly faint when I apply it however I don't steal his drugs and just settle with Advil and Tylenol until we reached New Orleans. It was a rather beautiful sight in the winter although of course no snow.

The next week is Christmas but at the time I just hoped I could drive back to my Cajun friends' place.

It took us a while but we manage to reach the house which has all sorts of Christmas lights around it making me smile.

For the first time in months I feel relief and warmth and smile at the sight and even smile when Jo El comes out with a shotgun.

I step out and say, "Hey stranger."

He smiles and shouts, "Colette! We gots company!"

Colette comes walking out and squeals before rushing to me to wrap her arms around me however she stops short when she sees me.

"Oh my-!" she says in a horrified tone before turning and yelling, "Daddy come here!" before looking back at me, "What happened? Jolin didn't do this did he?"

I shake my head and Jo El is now in front of me with wide eyes and he says, "You tell me who did dis to you and I take care ov it."

I shake my head and reply, "I all ready did take care of it." I look inside and Tink looks frightened and I say, "This is my good friend Tink."

They both notice her for the first time and try to talk softly to her as they would a frightening puppy.

She steps out and comes around to stand next to me as Cameo jumps out and goes to barking at Colette and Jo El's dogs as Cian slowly gets out.

Colette takes hold of both Tink and I's arms and leads us to the house where she prepares tea and goes about checking me and bandaging my back as Jo El sits in his chair watching before saying, "Tell us wut happened chéri."

I sigh and look at Tink who nods for me to tell them... and I do.

Colette never stops, flinches, pauses, or anything as I tell them what happened from my past of being a gypsy, to being an Amish secretary where I make enemies, after we left as husband and wife and revealing to Jolin who I used to be, Jolin leaving, finding Tink, reuniting with my brother and sister who are gypsies, being raped by one of my admirers, kidnapped and raped again by an ex boyfriend, being dumped in the woods and being found by another enemy where I have tortured for months, Jolin rescuing me, leaving Jolin, killing Allan, killing Stefan, killing Tyson, and the horrific attack and final killing of Merlin.

This is the first time I have told Tink everything and she is crying and I am crying but Colette is stoic behind me as she bandages my maimed back.

Silence fills the room for a long time until Colette interrupts, "Certainly explain these wounds and call me sadistic but I'm proud of you taking care of those evil men."

Tink looks up at Colette and then at me and says, "Honestly, I am proud of you too."

Jo El speaks next, "So chéri, what shall I call you?"

I half smile and answer, "I'm loving chéri but you may call me by my real name, Juliette, if you like."

Tink speaks up and says, "Her favorite name to go by is Jette and only one person can call her Jetta."

I give her a smirk and am surprised she remembers this.

Colette says, "I'm willing to bet my inheritance that the one Tinker her is talking about that is allowed to call you the latter is the man you both love and hate."

I smile fades and I don't have to say anything and everyone knows Colette is right and they know is hurts me just to hear his name.

Jo El says, "Let me give you some advice chéri, we all knows love is hard to understand, control, and keep. You has to give evera ting you has and it be scary... but if it is love, true love and not lust, you will find it worth fighting for and havin faith in. Little chéri, you is a fighter, you proved that by shootin dem bastards and never givin' up. I'm not tellin you what to do or how to think but if you care for an old man's thoughts, here it is, don't give up on dat young man."

I don't know how to reply and all I can do is look into Jo El's misty eyes before he give a slight nod before standing up and announcing that he is going to bed leaving me to ponder his words and allowing us girls to talk.

We don't talk much and I find myself finally succumbing to fatigue but I'm scared of what dreams will haunt me.

Colette informs me that she is going to give me some medicine that will help with the swelling and pain but it will make me drowsy.

That night as I lay down t sleep I am haunted with dreams and find myself unable to wake up leaving me screaming for Jolin and for the nightmares to stop.
