My mare Sally as Summer Blossom

"Are you sure, you want to take her in?" Brians deep voice asked over the phone. The smile I already had on my face spread even wider and an excited giggle escaped my mouth."Yeah! How can I say no?" I exclaimed excitedly. Brian chuckled and I could hear the faint crunching of gravel and the thudding of hooves.
"Great! I'll bring her over then."

I watched, starstruck, as my new mare, Summer Blossom, pranced around the paddock. Her dark chestnut body shone brightly in the afternoon sun while her light, blonde mane and tail fluttered in the wind. She is beautiful, but faulty. Being eight years old, she is still untrained and wild as the day she was born. Brian had tried his best in getting her under the saddle, but the fiery mare refuses to be ridden. So, not wanting an untrainable mare on his ranch and not able to sell her, he gave her to me, knowing she'll have enough space here to enjoy herself.
Thunder was quite happy about the new addition to the family. He's been prancing and whinning eversince Summer arrived. Unfortunatly for him, she wasn't interested in him at all.
I continued watching Summer as she came trotting over to me. Keeping still, I allowed her to sniff me and familiarise herself with my scent. I didn't attempt to touch her yet, I wanted her to get used to me first, before I take the big step towards a physical connection.
The sound of a truck coming up the driveway caught Summers attention and she whinnied at the stranger. I slowly turned around and sighed when I realized it was Wilbur.
After the second kiss we had I left his house in a hurry. Explaining to his parents that I had an emergancy I had to take care of. Eversince that night I've been avoiding him to the best of my abilities, but I should have known he'll show up here sooner or later.
"You've been avoiding me Macey." Wilbur stated sourly as he walked up to me. I glanced away from him and started making my way to Thunders pasture. Wilbur followed closely behind me.
"Macey! Talk to me!" Wilburs deep voice yelled behind me, but I kept walking, hoping he'll catch the message I was so clearly throwing his way.
Wilburs large, calloused hand wrapped around my forearm and quickly pulled me to a stop. My patience with him was running dangerously low.
"Let me go." I growled out without turning around to face him. Wilbur kept his hand claspped around my arm.
"I'm not letting you go untill you tell me what your problem is!" Wilbur demanded as his grip tightend. I spinned around and faced him with a hard, furious stare.
"I have a problem!" I yelled furiously, my limit of patience and calmness reached. Ripping my arm out of his grip I slapped Wilbur, I slapped him hard enough that Thunders snorting instantly stopped and his ears flick forward with curiosity.
"I'm not the one with a problem! Seven years ago you had the chance to have me. I was so in love with you that I would have given up all my dreams for you! But no! You rather decided to play the field and push me away. You told me you loved me and I believed you, like the stupid, naive girl I was. But now I can see everything clearly, you want to settle down and when I showed up you thought I'd still be the lovesick puppy you threw away. I grew up Wilbur, I started seeing through peoples façaeds, I hear the lies in their words and believe me, a relationship with you is the last thing I want or need." I finished with a sob. My throat was sore from admitting nearly everything I felt in my heart, my empty heart.
Wilbur stared at me with wide, shocked eyes. Taking advantage of his shocked state I walked off towards the barn to get Thunders tack.
Wilbur were still standing in the middle of the road, a confused expression on his face, when I mounted Thunder. As I walked passed him, Thunders snort of disgust brought him back to reality, he turned towards me with pained eyes.
"I'm sorry Macey." He pleaded quietly, although my heart was breaking, I couldn't give in. Not this time.
"It's too late for apologies now. Good bye Wilbur. " With that said I took off down the road with Thunder. Leaving Wilbur in the dust.
