Chapter 3: Absit (1-9: Outer Rim Territory/Tunka Sector- Absit System)

Kylo Ren smiled. He had a sense that he knew what this was about.

After Hux finished his words, he looked down, somewhat ashamed. Yet, when he looked up again, he found the other man smiling sweetly.

Their gazes held for a little bit.

After a minute or two, Kylo spoke up, "What do you need help with?"

"Um," Hux didn't know how to phase it. An attraction? Fondness? Likeness?

Love?

He thought about avoiding that word until later.

"Well, I'm experiencing strange feelings. I don't know what to call them, and I don't know what to do with them. I figured, since you've had more experience in that field, you could help me a bit."

Hux was proud with the way he worded things. He certainly conveyed what he needed to say, and words he didn't mean to at all.

Kylo Ren was getting better at reading minds. He smiled, and took a step even closer.

"Of course, General."

Hux was somewhat incapable of thinking due to the closeness of the man. Thier chests were almost touching, yet Hux still kept eye contact.

"Thank yo-"

The alarm for Hux's devision went off again. Without realizing, they both frowned. Neither of them wanted to leave the other, even with their initial awkwardness.

Just when it was getting good.

"Excuse me, Kylo Ren."

He ducked his head as he backed up, allowing Hux to walk past him. Kylo wasn't really sure wether he should say it or not.

I'm going for it.

"General?"

"Yes, Kylo Ren?"

"I'd prefer if you called me Ben, instead. Is that okay?"

"Of course. Now, if you don't mind."

Hux left the room. Ben let out a breath he didn't know he was holding.

The day had been fairly stressful for General Hux. He had been forced from Ben to meet with his underclassmen-in-training. He was particularly pissed that the whole meeting had nothing to do with him.

But, as always, he kept a blank face on, and remained professional.

That was, until he began the search for Ben afterwards. When Hux looked into the room they occupied before hand, there was no sign of the other man. As he began walking down the hall, the conference rooms ended their meeting. General Hux searched through the people to try and spot him. With no luck, he turned to the nearest commanding officer.

"Lieutenant!"

The man was scrawny, hardly fit for the field. Though his uniform hung off his figure in some areas, his pants were neatly creased and his shoes were nicely polished. It was sad to see such professional determination go to waste to do lack of attention to physical strength.

"Yes, General?"

"Do you know the whereabouts of Kylo Ren?"

"He was called from the strategic overview meeting about twenty minutes in. I don't know anything else, sir."

"Okay, thank you, Lieutenant."

The two parted ways, General Hux walking down the left corridor. Since he wasn't anywhere else, the general hoped to find Ben in a training room.

As he neared the corridor, the general could hear a loud pounding. Someone was working in there, and there was a high chance that it was Ben. The door opened automatically and Hux stepped in.

Ben was wielding a practice style saber, the technical term not known to Hux, and was skillfully aiming attacks at a practice dummy. He had his mask off, hair pulled back, and a training outfit on. Shame... Hux was somewhat disappointed at the present of a shirt. Ben stopped his training as he was made aware of the general's presence.

At this point, they were both blatantly flirting with each other, yet they both vigorously denied ever attempting it. It seemed it was second nature to the two.

"How was the meeting, General?"

"Boring," Hux offered a sly smile. "I'm hoping you'll be a little more exciting."

Ben chuckled, "I hope so too."

He walked over to a rack, putting away his practice saber. Then, he picked up a bottle of water, and made his way to General Hux.

"General? Did you start the Training Program from the beginning?"

Hux nodded.

As a young child, his parents sent him to a starter camp. After two years in that, during which Hux excelled and passed almost all of his classmates, he finished his starter training on the Training Base, which was stationed around a couple thousand miles above Absit (1-9: Outer Rim Territory/Tunka Sector- Absit System). Since the graduation of that program, Hux continued to promote himself and master his abilities.

While he's the highest general stationed on the Star Base, above Jakku (1: Western Reach/Inner Rim- Jakku System), he knows nothing other than how to be a loyal strategist for The First Order.

He doesn't know how to show kindness.

He doesn't know how to form bonds and relationships.

He doesn't know how to love.

Ben thought on that. He would need a little more than fancy flirting.
