*Hannah's P.O.V*

We followed the voice down the corridor. It seemed to be coming from the walls. I pressed my ear to the wall, following it. Harry and I didn't speak to each other.

"Harry, Hannah!" I screamed but then sighed in relief when I saw it was Hermione and Ron.

"That voice..." I murmured.

"Voice, what voice?" Hermione asked very quickly.

"Rip... tear... kill..." it hissed again.

"That voice!" Harry cried, and we ran off again, Hermione and Ron at our heels. I wasn't in the mood to try and explain. We kept running, Hermione and Ron bombarding us with questions. We ignored them though; the voice had almost like - hypnotised us.

Eventually we stopped dead, facing a horrifying scene. There was water flooding the floor outside Moaning Myrtle's toilet. On the walls, there were writing, in deep red. Only, it was too thick to be ink... it was blood.

The Chamber of Secrets has been Opened.

Enemy of the Heir, beware.

"Is that... blood?" I said, my voice shaking. I broke the silence that had lingered in the air for some time. Nobody answered me. I stared at the writing that was lit up by the torches. "Erm... what's that thing hanging below it?" We stepped closer to it. It hung down from the door frame.

"It's Mrs Norris!" Ron gasped. "We should go!" Just as he spoke, there were footsteps from either side of the corridor and a large crowd of people entered from both sides. They walked and came to a halt on either side of us, staring at us. It looked like we had done something wrong. A shout broke the tense silence.

"You'll be next- Mudbloods!" Malfoy shouted. Just then, someone was cutting through the crowd like scissors through silk.

"What's going on here?" Filch demanded. Please don't let him see Mrs Norris... No sooner had I thought that, his eyes fell upon his cat. "What did you - YOU! YOU KILLED MY CAT!" His hands reached for the collar of my robes and I was sure he was going to kill me.

"Argus!" Luckily - well, at least lucky that I was alive- Dumbledore, Snape and McGonagall had arrived. "Come with me, everyone else back to your dormitories." Lockhart had appeared.

"Feel free to use my office," he said merrily, leading us all upstairs. "It's nearest."

"Thank you Gilderoy," Dumbledore said politely. We sat in silence (must we have more silence?) while he examined his cat. Well, almost silence; Filch was sobbing away and Lockhart was listing the possibilities of her death and "it was such a shame that he wasn't there to stop it." Finally, it seemed Dumbledore was done. "Argus?" Filch looked up. "She's not dead."

"But what's wrong with her?" he spluttered through his sobs.

"She has been petrified," Dumbledore said softly. "But still, who did this... I cannot say."

"They did it!" Filch burst out, pointing at us accusingly. "I know they did- did you see what they wrote on the wall? He know's I'm a Squib!" I followed his finger and saw he was pointing at Harry, who looked confused.

"But I don't even know what a Squib is!" Harry protested.

"We haven't done anything to Mrs Norris, I promise!" I said earnestly. Snape spoke up from the shadows of the room.

"It is highly unlikely that Potter and his friends were in the wrong place at the wrong time," he said silkily. "They were in the upstairs corridor, not at dinner. Why is that?"
