Emma's POV (cont.)
The bell rang, signaling the end of lunch, and I made my way to my locker. I placed my textbooks inside and headed to the cafeteria. As I passed by, I noticed the members of the Busshead crew speaking with the new girl. I overheard them whispering something, but I shrugged it off and continued walking.
When I reached the cafeteria, I ordered my lunch and walked toward our usual table. Just as I was about to sit down, the new girl approached me.
"Hi, I'm Elena," she said with a friendly smile.
"Emma," I replied, offering a small smile in return.
We chatted for a little while, but then she excused herself and went to sit with the members of the Busshead gang. I watched her for a moment before turning back to my table, where Ethan and the others had just arrived. We spent the rest of lunch eating, talking, and laughing, enjoying each other's company.
The day passed quickly, and when the final bell rang, Ethan offered me a ride home. I gratefully accepted, and we left the school together, heading toward whatever came next.
