((Btw, this is my shitty doodle of Kylo... I thought I might as well post it here))

Chapter Five

About six weeks have passed since Kylo had shown up at the Starkiller base and become my apprentice, and nothing overly eventful has happened in that time. However it's safe to say that a very... odd... sort of bond has developed between us. Most of the time, we are perfectly fine and civil; I treat him how any teacher would treat their student and it is at these times, that we manage to get along without much talking from either of us. But that nice, peaceful and easygoing scene can change in a split second and turn very sour indeed. We end up fighting, often with lightsabers, and growling, yelling and swearing at each other for hours on end. It got so bad once that we destroyed a whole panel room and the corridor had to be closed off with a diversion sign. General Hux -who is awfully confident now, no longer snivelling when giving me orders - wasn't pleased at all, and banned me from any meetings for three days for being childish. but that's not what confuses me the most: I fight with a lot of people... maybe more so with Kylo but that's besides the point. What I don't understand is how I always, always defend him. If we're in a meeting and one of the officers throws a snide remark towards Kylo, I'll have that officer's throat in my grasp in an instant, telling them to watch their backs in the future. Maybe there's just a natural bond that will always be there because we are joined by the Force, but who knows.

I was sat on one of the plush black sofas in the higher ranking officers staff room, drinking tea from a chrome teacup and day dreaming about mine and Kylo's weird relationship. I was alone; my apprentice had been summoned by Snoke so I didn't expect to see him for at least another hour, and I had nothing better to do than to sit around until he was done. I'd just finished off my drink when the door to the room opened, and Captain Phasma walked in, closing the door behind her before whipping her helmet off.

"Afternoon," I nodded to her, noticing how her short blonde hair was plastered to her brow with sweat. She sat down heavily on the couch opposite me, pouring herself a glass of water from the jug on the coffee table. After gulping it down, she leant back into the cushions, looking at me.

"Whatever you do, don't go out there," she panted a little, sounding exhausted. I quirked an eyebrow.

"Can I ask why?"

"It's ridiculous, really. Of all the things to go wrong on in this base, it's the central heating that goes haywire. It's like a bloody sauna out there with armour on. I don't know how the troopers are surviving," she looked at me with the slight quirk of a smile. I chuckled.

"Well, I've been in here all morning and most of the afternoon, so I'm completely oblivious to all of this," I stood up and walked towards the door, tapping in the security code before it slid open. I took a single step out into the hallway, and it was like jumping into a bath of lukewarm water. The air was sticky with moisture that instantly drenched my face and robes, and it must have been about 40 degrees celsius. Instantly feeling sweaty, I turned back into the cool office, closing the door behind me and sitting back down in my previous spot on the couch. I looked at Phasma with disgust.

"Ew."

"You're telling me," she smirked, "I've been out in that for two hours now, barking orders at people who have no idea what they're supposed to be doing."

"Sounds like a blast," I grinned a little at her, before noticing a strange look in her eye that could easily go undetected.

"What?" I asked cautiously, not entirely sure if actually wanted to know - it was probably something about Hux.

"Hm?" she blinked, looking a little startled.

"You look weird, what's up?" I swung my feet to rest them on the coffee table, crossing my ankles.
