Chapter Two

So training went slightly better than expected, I'm not going to lie. He had a good swing - strong enough to swipe three men off their feet with one sweep, and he wasn't half bad at predicting my moves. However he was clumsy; there was so style, no grace to his fighting. If he were to go up against real Jedi's in the field, he would be at an instant disadvantage. We were sat at the edge of the large chamber, our sweaty backs up against the cold white wall. I could feel my breathing and heart rate begin to stabilize, but I could still see my apprentice panting away beside me, still composing himself. I would have cooled down ages ago if it wasn't for the fact that I was keeping this helmet on. Curse me and my need to cure my boredom in peculiar ways... I'd just stood up and was beginning to pull my hooded robe back on when I heard the chamber doors swing open behind me. I turned around to see the familiar tall silver-armoured Captain, striding in our direction.

"Phasma," I nodded curtly, trying to be professional in front of my apprentice, whom of which had stood suddenly, probably for formalities.

"(F/n), I've been looking for you. We're fast approaching a planet that we can stock up on supplies from. I need you to come down to the surface with me to make sure they'll be extra willing," I could almost hear the smirk in her voice from under that reflective helmet she wore.

"Is this Snoke asking as an order, or is this you asking for a friendly favour?" I queried, shifting my weight from foot to foot, feeling Ben come to stand close behind my right shoulder. She chuckled lightly.

"I'm asking as a friend; female to female. We could run this base with twice the ease and half the cost that these men here do. So will you come? You should bring your 'padawan', he has quite a high intimidation factor and that may prove useful," she nodded to the figure behind me. I turned my head and give him a quick look over, before looking back at Phasma with a nod of my head.

"Of course, we'll be there. When will you require our assistance?"

"An hour from now, meet at the base entrance," she turned on her heel and walked towards the door, before calling back without looking, "and don't be late!"

With Phasma gone, I turned back around to look at said 'padawan', having felt the Force around him go awfully still when Phasma was here. He seemed to be looking at his feet, as if thinking about something.

"I hope your thoughts won't distract you from the upcoming mission," I spoke in a sterner voice than I had with Phasma, gaining the tall male's attention.

"No, no! It's just- she said- I thought-," he snapped his head up and stuttered out, looking at me from a few feet away. It was rather odd hearing deep, fearful synthetic voices stutter.

"What?" I asked, growing impatient.

He took a deep breath.

"You're a woman?"

I froze, not realising that Phasma had given away my gender unknowingly.

"Ummm... Yes, I am," dammit this isn't how I'd planned he'd find out, and now it's just awkward.

"But I called you 'sir', and you didn't correct me...? Why?" he sounded incredibly confused now.

"That is true... And I thought I'd humour myself at your miscalculation. You see, I thought you'd been informed of my identity before you arrived here, so I was pleasantly surprised to find out that you had absolutely no idea who I am," I stated matter-of-factly, deciding to tell him the truth now since if I didn't, he'd find out sooner or later anyway.

I focused on him, looking out for any discomfort or hesitation that told me he didn't like being fooled. I found nothing, but he soon spoke up again.
