-- Scene One: You wake up around 3 am. You see a glow from the hallway and hear the sounds of tv.
You walk down and see Gunner sitting on the edge of the bed staring at it. You look over and see it --
You: Oh my god.
New Anchor: Now reporting (Your Ex Abussive boyfriends name) committed suicide earlier today.
You: Oh my..
Gunner: I'm sorry.
You start tearing up.
Gunner gets up, and raps his arms around you.
You sob into his chest as he rubs your back in an attempt to comfort you.
Gunner: I'm so sorry.
He squeezes you, and starts slightly rocking back and forth.
You start to calm down, and look up at him. He acts strong for you, but you can see the guilt behind his gaze.
You:/thinking/ he must think its his fault.
You hug him back, and rest your head on his chest. You close your eyes and sink up to the rocking.
Gunner: Do you wanna sleep in my bed tonight? I can take the couch.
You: We can share it. I don't mind...
Gunner: Ok.
He kisses the top of your head, walks over to the bed, and climbs in.
You walk over and climb in as well.
You turn on your side, and rest your eyes.
After a minute or so, Gunner rolls over and puts his arm over you.
His warmth makes you even more sleepy.
You drift off quickly.
-- Scene Two: You wake up the next morning feeling the warm sun leaking through the window and onto your face. You hear a joyful chirping of birds and Gunners loud snoring. --
You: Ughh.
You roll out of bed.
You wall into the kitchen, and start rummaging through the fridge. You find bacon and budder.
You: I hope he likes toast.
Scaring you;
Gunner: I do.
You: GAHH!!
He laughs, and walks over to you and wraps his arms around your waist while resting his head on you shoulder.
You glare at him, and he smiles.
You roll your eyes which just makes him smile more.
You give up, and just start preparing the bacon.
Gunner: You cook?
You: I can microwave.
Gunner laughs, and pulls away from you and walks over the the couch.
You continue to cook, and miss Gunner's gaze.
You: Hey, I have a question.
Gunner: What's up?
You: Do you mean it when you sat I love you?
Gunner: Of course I do. Why would I say it if it wasn't true?
You: My ex said it after he beat me.
Gunner: Oh.
He pauses.
Gunner: I'm sorry.
There is a moment of silence until you break the ice.
You: Do you mean that?
Gunner: What?
You: I don't know. The I'm sorry thing.
Gunner: Of course I do.
There is a long silence before Gunner sighs.
Gunner: You don't wanna be with me. You shouldn't be with me.
You: What? No I want to be--
Gunner: Why?
You: Because!
Gunner: Because why?
You: Because even though he beat me it was you who made me smile at the end of the day!
It goes silent for a long time.

He give you a playful wink.
