-- Scene One: You have slept over at Gunner's house and he was kind enough to clean up the couch for you. The next morning you wake up and hear the TV on. You roll over on your back and look and see Gunner. Your head is resting in his lap like a pillow. --
Gunner: Morning.
He smiles down at you.
You: Oh... Oh my god!
You sit up fast. Flustered.
Gunner: Are you okay?
You: Why was I --
Gunner interrupts you.
Gunner: You're just so cute when you sleep and my crappy throw pillows didn't look comfortable.
You: But.. How long was I sleeping on you?
Gunner: Uh... About twenty minutes.
You: Twenty... Why didn't I wake up?
Gunner: Are you asking yourself that or are you asking me?
You: Uhh.. Where's your bathroom?
He points at a door.
Gunner: Through that door.
You: Oh uh ok thanks.
You hop up and walk into the bathroom.
-- Scene Two: The bathroom is a mess. There are few dirty clothes scattered around. A toothbrush is in a cup with a half-full tube of toothpaste. --
You look in the mirror.
You: God, I look awful.
You turn the faucet on and let the water run for a second or two. You cup your hands under it and bring your face down into the cold refreshing water.
You: Ughh.
Gunner sneaks up behind you while you stretch yourself awake.
Gunner: Beautiful.
You: AHHH!
Gunner: What?
You: You spooked me!
Gunner: Spooked.
Gunner laughs at at your choice of word.
You: Ughh shut up!
Gunner: You are really cute when you're mad.
He boops your nose.
You: Stop it!
He laughs and waits for a moment then starts to talk.
Gunner: Wanna go see a movie?
You: W-what?
Gunner: A movie. Wanna go see one?
You: Why- uh. Sure. What movie?
Gunner: Anything you wanna see.
He winks at you.
You roll your eyes.
You: Why are you so flirty all the sudden.
Gunner: I've always been flirty, babe.
He tilts his head then raises his brow and smirks.
You cross your arms.
Gunner: Oh lighten up.
He pauses for a second.
Gunner: So how about that movie?
You: You'll pay?
Gunner: Of course.
You: Star Wars the Force Awakens.
Gunner: Good choice doll.
He winks again and doops your nose again.
You: Really stop doing that.
Gunner: Okay.
-- Scene Three: You two arrive at the movie theater and walk inside. You walk over to the snack bar and order a large, buttery popcorn and two Coke Icies. You walk into the movie room, already bought tickets, you sit down next to each other and wait for the movie to start. Half way through the movie Gunner puts his arm around you. --
You: What are you doing?
Gunner: What?
You: Nothing.
Gunner is obviously trying not to laugh.
You: I hate you.
Gunner: I love you.
Gunner kisses your cheek.
You shove his chest. You sit for a second and his warm kiss is still on your cheek. It strange for you to feel this, this feeling.
-- Scene Four: Your are outside the theater inside the car, and waiting for Gunner to say something, anything. --
You: Why did you kiss me back in there?
Gunner: Hmm?
You: Why do you keep flirting with me? Are you trying to screw with my emotion?
Gunner: No.
You: Then why do you do that stuff?
Gunner: Because.
You: Because why?
Gunner: Because I can't help it.
You: What?
Gunner: The way your boyfriend treated you when we met. It just gets under my skin. I want you to feel love.
You: You love me?
Gunner: I - Love is a strong word....
You: But, you said it. Back in the theater.
Gunner: I know.
You: So do you?
Gunner: I- I don't know.
You lean back in the car seat and let the conversation sink it.
You: /thinking/ Does he love me? I doubt it. We only just met but maybe.
