Chapter 24

****4 days later****
"There!" He said putting the last picture frame on the mantle of the fireplace. "Now we are officially unpacked." He added. He let out a sigh of relief and plopped down onto our huge 'C' shaped couch. Wolf jumped up after him as did Zeus. "So Jake (Jake Paul the Viner and friend of the twins) is moving into the house with Gray in a few days?" I asked, striking up conversation. "Yeah he's been wanting to move in with us for a while but is still fine with just Gray. I think they're better friends anyways. I'm just glad he won't be living alone. I'd feel bad if I just left him by himself, ya know?" He said. "Yeah I understand. I'm glad Cam and Nash still have each other." I agreed. "Are we still on for tonight?" he asked. It was our 2 year anniversary tonight and Ethan was taking me out to Panino. "Yeah I'm going shopping with Anna later for an outfit." Anna is my older sister that I never really talked about because she was never in town. She was 18 when our parents died so she took off to live in New York, leaving me with no one. She made a career for herself and now she's a big time music producer and she was in town to visit one of her clients. For many years we barely spoke because she left but we made amends a few years ago and now she comes to LA to see me often and is even thinking of moving her label out here. We were meeting at the mall to shop for a dress. Anna had been dating the same guy for years now and is pretty much the expert on dates. I waited at Starbucks for 30 minutes and she didn't show up so I decided to start without her. I went to Forever 21, Charlotte Rouse, PacSun, Zumiez, H&M, and even Macy's and found nothing. I got a text from Anna.
A: Mace I'm so sorry but I can't make it! Something came up at the label and I had to fly back to New York short notice! I'll make it up to you soon.
M: oh. See you next time you come to LA then

I turned the screen off and shoved the phone in my purse not caring if she texted back. Then I saw it. The perfect dress for my date. The bust was silver sequins and the bottom was white and flowy. It's so beautiful. I went into a little store called Boho Chic and bought the dress. I already had shoes to go with it so I headed home. I walk out to my car to see Alex leaning up against it. "Hey stranger! Long time no see." I said giving him a hug. "Hey Mace, what are you up to?" He asked. "Well I was supposed to meet Anna here to shop for a dress for tonight but you know how flaky she can be." I replied. "What's the occasion?" He asked. "Uh it's Ethan and I's two year anniversary today." I said awkwardly. "I heard you guys got a house together. That's pretty cool." He said even more awkwardly. "Yeah we're actually having like a house warming party this weekend you should come." I told him. "Okay, I'll be there! Well I gotta run I'm supposed to be meeting my brother here to look for clothes for an interview. Bye Mace!" He said as he began to walk away. I looked at my phone to see a text from Anna, but I didn't read it, I was still so mad at her for being a flake yet again. I look at the time. It was 4:30. I needed to go home and get ready, dinner was at 7:30. I drove home and found Ethan in his garage putting the top back on his Jeep. "Hey babe I'm back. I'll be upstairs if you need me." I yelled. I went upstairs, Wolf following, to my bathroom where I quickly showered and blow-dried my hair. I then straightened it and curled in and then put it into a half up-do. By the time I was done with my hair it was 6:15! I did a light gold smoky eye and my usual winged eyeliner with a bright red lip to add a little pop... 6:30! I heard Ethan come upstairs so I quickly ran and got my dress and shoes and ran back into the bathroom. I wanted him to be surprised when he saw me. I got dressed and it was now 6:45. "Are you done yet we gotta go soon?" He said. "Yeah wait for me downstairs I wanna surprise you." I replied. He went downstairs and I opened the door to get some earrings. Finally I went downstairs and found him waiting for me at the door. When he saw me he put his hand over his mouth in pure awe. "Wow" was all he could say, not once looking away from me. I went up to him and kissed him on the cheek and giggled. "You look amazing Macy. Two years later and you still never cease to amaze me." He grabbed his keys and we left for the restaurant. We had the most amazing dinner and went for a walk on the beach before returning back to our house. At the front door I wrapped my arms around his neck and kissed him and said "Tonight was one of the best nights of my life." "It doesn't stop now." He said with a huge grin on his face. We open the door to see Wolf laying on the floor whining and Zeus standing over her. "Oh my god Wolf!" I cried. I ran over to her and fell to my knees beside her. Ethan grabbed Zeus and pulled him away. I kicked off my shoes and picked her up and carried her to my car and carefully laid her in the backseat. I tossed the keys to Ethan and got in the back seat with her while he drove to the Emergency Vet office. We waited in the room with her for a while for the vet finally came in and told us...
