Chapter 26

(Still Ethan's POV)
I saw tears running down her face after what felt like an eternity, she leapt into my arms and said "Yes!" I stood lifting her up and spinning her around. She grabbed my face and frantically, then passionately started kissing me. I pulled away and put the ring onto her tiny little finger. She wiped her face and admired the ring. "Ethan, it's beautiful. It's gorgeous." She said, more tears running down her face. She hugged me tightly and whispered "Now this is the best night of my life." Iggy let out a weak bark that made us laugh. "Look Wolfy your mama's getting married." She said to Wolf holding out her hand. "I love you Ethan Grant Dolan." She said looking up at me with her beautiful hazel eyes. "I love you too Macy Nicole Santiago." She stood up on her toes to kiss me but before our lips could touch we heard a car out front. (Macy's POV). I was still in shock from what had just happened. I knew something was on his mind but I didn't know he was going to propose! We heard the car pull up out front and Ethan walked around the front to see who it was and came back with Grayson. "Perfect timing Gray! We have something we wanna tell you." Ethan said. There was a pause. I held out my hand. "He proposed!" I squealed. He looked over at Ethan with a shocked look and said "you finally popped the question??" He asked surprised. "Well I'm really happy for you guys. Congratulations! I just came by to say hi I haven't seen you guys in a while. But I'll go you guys obviously deserve some time alone." He continued. "No stay! There's food if you want some." I begged. "Well I can't pass up Macy's cooking." We all went inside and ate the rest of the empanadas that I made for dinner. Making empanadas was a big deal for me. My dad taught me how to make them before he died and it's just something I've always held close to my heart. Just thinking about my dad not being able to see me walk down the isle or possibly playing with his grandkids brought tears to my eyes. "Excuse me, I uh have something in my eye." I said quickly walking up the stairs. I went in the bathroom and wiped my face. I didn't want Ethan to see that I was sad about something 10 minutes after getting engaged to him. I calmed myself down and went back downstairs. "You okay Mace?" Grayson asked. "Yeah I'm fine." I sighed. Grayson was holding little Iggy, she was dead asleep in his arms. "She's so cute how she just goes to sleep when you hold her." He said. "Yeah she won't go to sleep unless she's in our bed, with her mama and Zeus, or if one of us is holding her. Otherwise she's up all night tearing things up." I said. "Where's Ethan?" He asked. "Um I'm not sure. I thought he was down here." I replied. Grayson shook his head. "Huh. Well anyways, how was the food?" I asked. "Incredible as always Mace." He said. I stared at my ring. "I'm really happy for you guys. Hopefully one day I'll get there with Natalina." He said. "I'm sorry did you just say Natalina?" I said shocked. "Yeah...? Why...?" He asked nervously. Ethan came back in the kitchen and asked "what's goin on?" "Did you know Grayson is dating Natalina?" I said still looking at Grayson, his a confused and scared look was on his face. "You're dating THE Natalina?" He asked. "Yes I'm dating a girl named Natalina here I'll show you a picture of her." Grayson said sounding annoyed. He pulled out his phone and sure enough it was her. "Alright look I don't wanna start anything tonight so how about the next time you see her, ask her about Macy and just lemme know what she says." I said ending that topic. "Okay well I think I'm gonna go it's pretty late and she might be wondering where I am." He said handing me a still sleeping Iggy and walking to the door. "Bye guys and Congrats again." He said closing the door. "I cannot believe he's dating Natalina. She's been with like half our friends it feels like." I said, frustrated. "Mace can we let it go just for tonight?" Ethan asked hugging me from behind. I nodded. I carried Iggy upstairs and put her in her dog bed hoping Wolf and Zeus would lay down with her. I went out to the balcony and sat on the outdoor couch admiring my ring. "Macy are you okay?" Ethan said coming up the stairs and sitting down next to me. I smiled at him. "Why wouldn't I be." I asked. "I know you were upset about something earlier I saw your eyes tear up." He said. "I was just thinking about my dad. He won't be here to walk me down the isle, or get to see his grandkids if we do decide to have kids. I was thinking about my mom too, like how she won't be there to help me pick out a dress, and it's not like Anna is around to help me. It's just sad ya know? But I'm really happy I promise, I was just having a moment." I explained. "I'm sure Cam and Nash would help. I mean they're like your brothers and I know they would do anything for you." He said reassuring me. I looked at him and thought why am I complaining I just got engaged I should be all over my fiancé tonight. I decided to put all that out of my mind and focus on him. I stood up and then sat back down on his lap, wrapping my arms around his neck and kissing him on the cheek then resting my forehead on his. I shut my eyes and said "I could live in this exact moment forever." He said nothing he just kissed me long and hard. He picked me up and carried me to the bed and we had the most amazing night. My life couldn't get any better than this. Or so I thought.
