"Give it back!"
All Tyler could do was sit and laugh at my poorly written list. I was trying to get it away from him but my attempts were failing.
In case your confused- in the last few minutes Tyler opened my box. He pour out the contents and didn't find anything but a few candles, some old books, a Miley Cyrus cd and then the one thing I dreaded him finding most, my bucket list. He started to read it and immediately I pushed him off the couch- trying to get it back- and now he is sitting on the hard wood floor reading it hysterically while I'm ready to punch him.
"It means a lot to me please give it back." I tried to be sincere.
"L-l-l..." He trailed off due to laughing so hard. "Learn how to basket weave? How old were you when you made this thing?!"
Tyler continued to laugh, little did he know that the pieces of paper he was holding in his hands were the last thing I did with my dad. He knew he was dying. He didn't tell me. He didn't want me to know. He wanted me to set goals for my future. Goals that are being laughed at by the arrogant jerk.
"Become best friends with your roommate?!" He laughed again "gosh wonder if that will happen."
His words stung. The memories stung. And that's when it came, I don't know why I'm crying so much today, I never cry. It's the memories of my dad that are making me weak.
A single tear rolled down my cheek. I looked up at the white ceiling trying to make the years go away.
"Is everything alright?" Tyler asked
So now he cares. I sucked up my feelings, stood up, walked into my room and went to bed at 2 in the morning.
**********
*knock knock*'Perfect wake up call.' I thought
"Who is it?"
"Hey it's Tyler, I got you breakfast."
Yum. "I'll be out in a minute!" I called.
Ugh. I'm not a morning person. I slung my legs out of the covers and put them into my small -yet fuzzy- black slippers and wrapped my pink, green, and black floral robe around me. I quickly threw my hair in a messy bun and wiped all my excess makeup off my face.
'Note to self, take makeup off before bed.' I thought.
Overall I looked presentable and so I walked into the kitchen.
"Good morning sugar plum, I brought you pancakes, eggs, and sausage."
I looked skeptically at the plate of perfect food in front of me. Then at the flawless boy next to it. He was wearing grey joggers with a simple Panic! At the Disco shirt. How did he look to perfect at this time in the morning? His natural curly brown hair was perfectly done.
"What's the catch?" I asked
"Oh nothing," he started "I just had extra from where I went this morning."
'So this isn't about my bucket list.' I thought.
"Do you have anything to say to me?" I asked
Tyler smirked "nothing at all. Do I need to say something?"
Ouch.
"Well maybe you should apologize. For last night."
"I did nothing wrong. Now eat up baby cakes before it gets cold, then get ready because first period starts soon."
Shoot! I forgot there's actually school involved in this all. I thought I didn't start for another week but I guess not.
I quickly are the delicious breakfast and then ran into my room where I curled my hair, did my makeup, and got dressed in denim jeans with a gray shirt and a flowy blue, yellow, orange, and gray cardigan. I completed the look by pegging my jeans and wore yellow booties.
"Can you take me to school?" I asked Tyler
"I was planning on it."
There was a look in his eyes that made me not trust him.
"I'll be ready in a few." He stated.
I decided to kill the time by watching cartoons. About a half an hour later Tyler walked out of his room looking the exact same as he did before.
"What are you all dressed up for?" He asked me. "You look pretty but your trying too hard."
"You *almost* flattered me." I snapped back
"You know I did." He said with his signature smirk
"You flatter me as much as a dog flatters a rabid goose."
He stuck his tongue out at me and then smirked. I laughed at the gesture.
"Now come on."
I got off the couch, straightened out my clothes, and walked towards the door. When I got there I looked at Tyler. Guys are supposed to open doors for girls. I will teach him manners.
"Are you going to go out?" He asked me.
"Why don't you be a gentleman and open the door for me." I stood behind the door.
Stupid choice. Tyler smirked they opened the door as hard and as fast as he could. The door smacked my face and I fell to the ground. Tyler walked out of the apartment with pride.
"Meet you in the car." He called back to me.
I stumbled to my feet and groaned. I rubbed my forehead -which was throbbing- and re-opened the door.
It was a cool Autumn day. The leaves were beautiful colors and I couldn't help but just stop and admire the beauty around me.
"Hurry up slowpoke."
I walked to Tyler car and got in the passenger seat.
"You're cruel." I state as i buckle my seatbelt.
"Hey, girls are fully capable of opening doors much less move out of the way."
I glared at him while he stayed focused of the road and smirked.
After a silent car ride we pulled near the school. Then slowly, we passed it.
"Uhm, Tyler... The school is right there."
He ignored me.
"We passed it already."
He ignored me again.
"Turn around and take me to school I'll miss the first day!"
Tyler turned to me and smirked. "There's no school today."
"What? Then where are we going?" I asked.
"You'll see."
And then he hit the gas.
