"M'am?"
A still voice and cold hands shook me awake.
"I'm so sorry I fell asleep."
I stumbled to my feet and ran off the plane. I went down to the baggage claim and took what was mine.
*ring ring*
"Hello?"
"Hey it's patty, I'm here at baggage claim C to pick you up and take you to the dorms. They haven't shipped your car yet."
"Oh okay great I'll be there in a few."
I hung up. "Who's Patty? Have I met her before or is she apart of the welcoming committee? Who knows?" I thought to myself.
I walked out of the doors to see a large van with "Patty" standing in front of it. I walked over to the vehicle.
"Hi, I'm Olivia."
"I'm Patty."
She shook my hand and led me to the back of the van where we loaded my four suit cases.
"I'm apart of the welcoming committee and it's my job to pick up everyone from out of state."
"Makes more sense now." I respond with a vague smile
Without another work we climbed into her car.
"You're going to love it here! The school has many fine arts you can take. Top of the line math teachers. Hilarious English and science professors that are always there. Our councilors are exceptional. We have multiple clubs, after school activities, the library is a wonderful place. The have a large bookstore and a cafeteria with a wide variety of food. The dorms are extremely close to the school and you feel like you're at home. I have no idea who your roommate is but we can figure it out when we get there. Any questions?"
"Yeah," I say with my mind racing with questions, some of which are snotty like 'will you ever shut up?' Or 'is this required of you?' "What's the campus like?"
She babbles on and on and on about the aquarium and art museum and theatre room but I don't bother to listen. I don't know why I asked.
"To you're left you will see Ben's Burgers. Tons of students go there for lunch."
I nod my head and look at the old fashioned burger joint. All I wanted was to move in. Cook dinner and become best friends with my new roommate. Simple and I can mark it off the list. Having a tour with Patty wasn't on my bucket list that's for sure.
After about an hour of driving and a long one sided conversation we arrived. My gleaming eyes looked around the campus. It was larger than I pictured. The dorms were at least 3 years old. You could tell the school had been remodeled several times.
Patty lead the way to the registration table.
"Hi I'm Courtney! I'm the president of the welcoming committee and the activities committee. Let's find out where your dorm is."
Courtney was really pretty and she seemed outgoing enough to win anyone's vote. Her light blonde hair and dark blue eyes matched her flowy floral cardigan.
"Hmmmmm looks like your dorm was taken." Courtney says with a confused face.
"What do you mean?"
"The administration made a mistake and put a different girl in your dorm and there's no place for you to go."
"She can live with me."
The voice was a deeper male voice and I turned around to see a 6'4 guy. His hair was brown perfect with slight natural curl. His brown eyes gleamed and he flashed a dimpled smile. "He's perfect" I thought.
"HAH" Courtney scoffs "she? Can live with.... You?"
"What's so wrong with it? I don't have a roommate."
"Of course you don't Tyler. You don't even know this chick so why hit on her?"
Tyler laughed "I'm not, she needs a place to stay I need more money. It works out great."
Courtney looked over at me and I knew this flawless boy was trouble.
"Olivia. This is Tyler he is the baddest boy and biggest player at the school."
Tyler smiled "thanks goody two shoes!"
I could tell there was a rivalry between them.
"Now, it's up to you, do you want to move in with him? There's always more dorms up the street-"
She kept talked but I couldn't help but think, I know I wouldn't be following the bucket list, but this could be a adventure and that's all I want. We can become best friends right?
"So what do you say?"
I looked around. I knew I would regret this.
"Sure."
"Yes!" Tyler quietly said
"What?!" Courtney was confused "you'll regret this, if you want to change you can now. But seriously, he's trouble. You won't be able to change your mind. Are you sure?"
"Yeah." I said hesitantly
"Yes. One point for bad boy, zero for heart broken goody two shoes." Tyler mocked "come on, grab your stuff and I'll take you to our dorm sweet cheeks."
I grabbed my stuff and already regretted my choice.
