Kayla POV: I wake up, and look at the clock. It’s only 7. I look around, realizing this isn’t my room, and then I remember what happened yesterday. I have mixed feelings, but overall I’m glad that I’m living with Maya now. Her mom is so nice, and she’s taking us on a shopping spree today! I grab my phone and check my texts. I don’t have any, luckily. The only person who would text me is my mom or Maya, and Maya’s right here, and I do not want to talk to my mom. I hear Maya yawning, and look over to see her sitting up rubbing her eyes sleepily.
“Good morning, Kayla!”
“Good morning”
“Are you ready to have a totally awesome shopping spree today?”
“OMG YES!!!” I say jumping up and down excitedly. We decide to get dressed and then make breakfast for Maya’s mom. We make waffles and sausage and then wake her up. By 8:30 we are on our way to the mall. When we get there, Maya’s mom pulls us into the Sprint store first, which I think is weird. “Why are we going here?”
“You’ll see”
Maya’s mom goes up to the front counter and asks for an iPhone 5, and to add a number to their family plan. She calls me over and asks for my number, and I tell her. She then turns to the lady and asks if she can transfer that number to the iPhone, and the lady says she can. I realize what’s going on and say “Ms. Walsh, you don’t have to do this, you’re already going to be spending way too much money on me as it is.”
“Okay, first of all, please don’t call me Ms. Walsh, it makes me feel old. Call me either Mary or mom.”
“I’ll call you mom. I like that.” I say with a smile.
“And second of all, don’t worry about the money, I’ve gotten more money from Maya’s father than I even know what to do with.”
The sales lady came back and handed mom the phone (I like calling her mom, I feel that she deserves that name, unlike my previous mother). She handed it to me and I thanked her before going back over to where Maya is sitting, playing on her phone.
“OMG your mom is soooo nice!”
“I know! She told me that she’s gonna pretty much spoil us rotten today.”
Mom called us over to where she was standing and asked us each what color iPod nano and what color iPad we want. I decided not to argue with her, because I know I won’t win, plus I do like being spoiled. I get a black iPad and Maya gets a white one, and I get a purple iPod nano, and Maya gets a pink one. Mom goes to the front desk and pays for both of them, and then we leave the store. Next, we get clothes. Maya and I both got a lot of clothes. I got a TWLOHA shirt and bracelet, a Demi Lovato ‘Stay Strong’ bracelet, a Lady Gaga ‘Born This Way’ bracelet, some black converse, a jacket that says ‘live and let live’, lots of shirts, lots of different colored shorts and skinny jeans, lots of different colored leggings, including galaxy print ones, lots of shoes, and a giraffe hat, a zebra hat, an owl hat, a squirrel hat, and a Bubbles (from Powerpuff girls) hat. Maya got lots of pink sparkly things, lots colored shorts, skinny jeans, and leggings, shirts, flowers for her hair, and a Panda hat and a Blossom (also from powerpuff girls) hat. We had to go back and put stuff in the car multiple times since we couldn’t carry it all. After we were done getting clothes, we got my comforter. I chose a black one with purple butterflies and white swirls on it. Maya also decided to get a new one, and she chose one with neon colored butterflies all over it. I thought it was a little bit childish, but it does fit Maya’s bubbly personality. Next we got 2 iHomes, and a piece of wood for our colored pencils. After that we went home. We put the clothes in the closet, put the comforters on the beds, set up the iHomes, and set up the colored pencils. After that we sat down so Maya could help me set up my phone with instagram, twitter, and all those things, but when I unlock my phone, I see a text from my mother.
cliffhanger!!! I will update again tomorrow
