To Be Loved

Chapter 4

(Jesse's P.O.V.)

I spent the past two weeks spending time getting to know Lina more. Her eyes light up every time we talk about dancing, she wants to be a professional dancer when she gets older and do it competitively. We haven't been back at the studio for awhile though, I can tell she misses it but it'll only remind her of how much she misses Miss Trinity. Trixie texts me about how vicious the new dance teacher is and I don't think Alina's ready to accept her old teachers replacement.

My alarm began to ring and I quickly got up and got dressed. Today I'm driving Lina to the airport to pick up Penelope, her twin. When I arrived at Lina's house I texted her that I was there. She ran out of the house in her pajamas, as soon as she got out of the car I began laughing.

"I like your cupcake slippers, " I told her while I was laughing. She chucked her slipper at me and I started rubbing my head then handed her her slipper.

Now's the time to tell her I can't keep this a secret for much longer. Penelope and I had a small fling before she left to go to Paris or whatever. She broke up with me about a week before Ms. Trinity died. When Ms.T told me how Lina felt I was kind of surprised cause she'd never really pay much attention to me. Nelly didn't take the break up very well so she started sending me pictures of her and her manager and it pissed me off so I agreed to take Alina today to make her sister jealous. I feel really bad but I miss Nelly and I want her back, she's the only girl I've ever really loved. Alina is pretty easy to lead on because she already likes me, so I got close to her these past three weeks. I even paid my little brother to interrupt the kiss after the funeral, so that I wasn't playing her too much.

"Alina I have to tell you somet-" the ringing of her phone interrupted me.

When she started talking I started driving cause I could already tell who was on the phone by the yelling. They didn't live very far from the airport so by the time she was done talking we were already there.

"Jesse what did you want to tell me?" she questioned. I decided against telling her cause I was eager to see my princess. I asked her if she wanted me to go pick her up and considering her outfit of course she said yes.

I ran into the airport towards terminal E and looked for Penelope. I wore a tight shirt so my abs would pop out, something she loves. When I spotted her I called out her name and she ran up to me and gave me a big hug. I hugged her back tightly then released her so I could go get her bags. We walked out of the airport with her on my right arm and her bags on my left.

Alina got out of the truck while I was putting the bags in the back. Penelope jumped in without so much as a hello to her sister. Alina stood there and just glared at her sisters profile.

I came around the truck to where Nelly could see and picked up her sister and put her on my shoulder. She started screeching and I put her in the backseat and child-locked the doors so she couldn't get out. I was finishing up with the bags when I heard my love tell her sister that she's childish and that I'd never fall for someone like her. Alina didn't respond, I feel bad for her now. I wish I could do this without hurting her.

I got back in the truck and Nelly told me about her manager breaking her heart and her losing her modeling contract, because of a fight she had with a model. She's pretty vulnerable right now so its easy to get her back now.

When we arrived back at the house I opened the door for Lina and picked her up out of the truck. As soon as I put her down she ran into the house.

"Jesse I really missed you and I made a huge mistak-" I cut her off by wrapping my arms around her waist and kissing her lips, she wrapped hers around my neck pulling me in closer. I pulled away.

"When are we going to tell your sister? I found out about 3 weeks ago that she likes me. A lot." I told her.

"I kind of guessed that by the way she was looking at you. She's really sensitive though so I guess if we tell her now it won't affect her as much as if we told her later."

"Sounds good." We both went into the house and up the stairs. Alina's stereo was up pretty loud so I started banging on the door asking her to open up. I heard sniffles and started banging harder, then I heard a thump and her sister gave me the key. I opened the door and found Alina on the floor with blood spreading all over the floor one of her hands was bloody and she seemed unconscious. Her sister was just standing there in panick, the same way Alina had when Ms.T was dying. I quickly pulled my cell phone out and called an ambulance giving them the address and what room we were in.

They arrived about ten minutes later then took her away on the stretcher. Penelope rode in the ambulance with her. I got in my truck and followed and started calling her father, who didn't answer so I left a voicemail. Then I called their brother who also didn't answer. When we arrived Alina was brought into the emergency room and I waited outside with her sister who was crying uncontrollably, I held her tight to me and let her cry into my shirt. When the doctor came out he told us that Alina is in a medically induced coma and her condition is unstable so we can't see her, he asked a few questions to Penelope about Alina's health but she couldn't answer any.

Their father and brother came rushing in asking where Alina was and how she was doing. Penelope told them everything then asked her dad to help with the paperwork but he couldn't answer any of it either.

Figures cause Lina's alone all the time. She couldn't be put in a room until after the paper work was done, but her father slipped the doctor a wad of cash and asked the guy for the best room they possibly had.

My mom called and I told her we were at the hospital, ten minutes later she and Ayden were in the emergency with us waiting for Alina to be moved.

Nelly and Lina's brother didn't say anything he just looked guilty. I wonder what's that about.

When the doctor declared her condition stable everyone rushed into the room to see her. My mom hugged their dad and Ayden kissed Lina's cheek before she left to take him to daycare. Her dad's phone rang and he said he had to go, he kissed Lina's forehead then left the room, her brother was right behind saying that he was his ride.

Penelope started tearing up when her father and brother left without so much as a word to her. She said sorry then ran out of the room. Again I was the only one left to watch over her, why is it that her family is never together? I wonder how Alina copes with being lonely all the time, but the I saw something that stood out on her wrists, that answered all my questions.
