I went to the park and saw a small boy trying to fly his kite. There wasn't any wind so I sat down with him under the shade and kept him company.
" So you come here often?" I asked
" Whenever I'm having a hard time, I fly kites. They always make me feel better." He replied
" All by yourself?" I asked
" Yep."
" Where are your parents?" I asked
" They told me flying kites is a waste of time."
" Your friends?"
" Who would want to hang out with a guy like me"?
" Hey , it's difficult now but it's going to get better soon, I promise. Not today but someday." I said
He smiled at me .
I never saw him in the park ever again. It's been 10 years now and I was taking a stroll with my Husband and our daughter. Suddenly a tall, handsome teenage boy with blue eyes approached us. He looked very fit and smelled really good.
He approached me and said,
" You may not remember me but thank you for keeping your promise. My life got better."
I was very confused upon hearing his words.
" Not today, but someday." He muttered as he walked away.
By the time I realised what he was talking about, he disappeared into thin air.
" Mummy who was that?"
I smiled and said,
" The boy I saved."
