[Just a warning, I am aware that this chapter is anything but a good ending for this story and I am going to rewrite it to make it better, so just bear with me until I do. Sorry about that]

One the one hand Billie kind of regretted telling Brian because he did look at her differently. But on the other hand she didn't regret it because he didn't necessarily look at her in a bad different way now, she could just see a lot more worry in his eyes whenever he looked at her. He was always around her, always watching out for her. It actually made her feel safe, at least safer than before. She could even be relaxed in public, for example at school. She didn't spend her lunch hours alone anymore, and she didn't spend them looking behind herself anymore. She trust Brian and she trusted him and she trusted him to warn her if someone or something was coming. Just the way he trusted her with the same. They truly were best friends and everyone could see that. After realising that their normal threats didn't scare Billie and Brian anymore, the bullies started to mock them, calling them a couple and constantly making kissing noises around them. It bothered both Billie and Brian more than they'd want to admit because they were both scared the other would find out about their crush. Yes, by now it wasn't just Billie who had a crush on Brian and who felt like there was no way out from that, the same had happened to Brian. Everytime he saw the young woman, his best friend as he kept reminding himself proudly, his heart started to beat faster and the butterflies that had started calling his stomach home were becoming active. Eventually he had admitted to himself that it could only be a crush. Nothing else would explain that, not even the excitement of finally having a best friend. She tried to calm herself around him but she found it hard to hide her happiness, and frankly she didn't really want to. It had been a while since she was so happy and she wasn't going to let anyone take that away from her. The two of them still spent a lot of their time together, sneaking into each other's homes at almost any time of day because they missed the other. Her father was getting rougher and rougher on Billie, but she endured the pain. Brian helped a lot with that, more than he would probably ever realise. She was so greatful for him, for all the times he had let her stay over in his house, in his room, in his bed with his arms wrapped around her gently. He was her protector when she couldn't sleep night after night because of terrible nightmares. She wasn't sure if he knew but she thought that if he didn't there was no reason to tell him, before he got suspicious. His arms were the best place to sleep in her opinion, he made the best blanket. He was always warm and even though he was so thin, he was very cuddly. She hated having to get up in the morning to sneak back to her house. It was much worse than getting up from just warm blankets, it was having to get up from Brian and compared to him the morning air always seemed cold and unwelcoming. She could tell he didn't like the mornings either. He always tried to make her stay when she was at his house, and even though her house was anything but welcoming he always stayed as long as he possibly could. They were almost inseparable. The only thing that could make them stay apart was Billie's father. He had walked in on them once, not even in the morning, but one afternoon when Brian had agreed to come over to help her with some physics homework. The only reason that Brian got away was that her father didn't want to get in trouble with his parents. Billie didn't get away, and when Brian found out he was more than just upset. Billie didn't want to tell him that she had taken the hits for both of them, but she took off her make up in the evening so it was impossible for her to hide bruises like that from Brian. The only way was to not let him stay over him then he'd also know that something was wrong so there really was no point. Life wasn't easy for them, but it wasn't impossibly hard. They managed to figure it out and they both liked it. It was a change to their lives before they had met each other, and the past two years had been the best of their lives. They were already planning to find a flat together when they would go to university. Brian's parents weren't very happy about that for different reasons, but he didn't let that stop him. He was an adult and he could make his own decisions. Billie was mostly looking forward to getting out of her home for obivous reasons, but almost to the same extend she was happy to be sharing a flat with Brian. That way they could always be around each other and no one could stop them from doing what they wanted. Except themselves, maybe. Billie doubted that she would ever be more than a friend to Brian, and she didn't want to risk their relationship by trying anything she wasn't certain of. That was the plan, and as always the plan sounded perfect, nearly too goood to be true. Billie was almost certain something would go wrong, and she was right. However, neither of them had expected that much to go wrong, not even her. When she had come home from school one day, it seemed a little odd but there was a lorry standing in front of their house. A bit confused she examined it closer and realised it belonged to a moving company. When she went inside she learned that they were in fact going to move, and not just down the road.

She had been supposed to go to Brian's house because he had found some flats he wanted to look at with her, but she felt like she couldn't. She felt numb, like the whole meaning of her life had been taken away from her. Eventually that evening, however, she gathered up enough strength to walk to Brian's house. She felt sick the entire time, scared to tell Brian the news. He would be devastated, absolutely crushed. Weakly she knocked on the door and when Brian opened it, she couldn't hold herself back anymore and let the tears flow freely. Utterly confused he wrapped his arms around his best friend and held her close, trying to calm her. He took her up to his room and finally she felt like she could talk again and make sense. "I-I'm moving.." She croaked, her throat dry from all the crying. "Moving?" Brian stared at her incredulously, intently hoping Billie was joking, even though he could see she was serious. In that moment their worlds were crushed. Their perfectly planned future was never going to happen. He had lost her and it hurt so much. She was back in the control of her father, who was going to do god knows what to her. He was never going to let her go. When they said goodbye, it felt like it was a goodbye forever, despite their promises to call and write letters. There was one big problem that had definitely managed to ruin everything that gave Billie hope. Her father had taken everything important away from her and it seemed like she was never going to get it back.

I know it's not the best and kinda short and I'm sorry because this is the last part of this book and I wanted it to end better. I might go back and edit the last few chapters because I've discovered some things I mentioned in the first chapters that don't match with what I wrote now, but I'll let you know if I updated anything. Buuut don't be sad, because finishing this book means moving on to the next book and that means more about Brian and Billie and hopefully you'll like that too! I'm going to put the link to the second book here, but if you're curious already it's called Nothing Can My Love Erase and you should be able to find it on my profile once I post it (hopefully either Thursday or Friday at the latest). Thank you all so much for reading and I hope I'll see you reading and commenting on my next book :)
