Chapter 23

I woke up from the sound of my phone playing 'Oh No!' By Marina and The Diamonds. Bruce. I sat up and answered it.

"Hello?" I said into the phone.

"Hi Natalie, this is Jordan." Jordan said. That's weird.

I stood up quickly which caused a head ache. "How'd you get this number?"

I heard Jordan laugh. "Sorry I probably alarmed you. Bruce needs you to come down to the labs to check out that curse you have."

"Okay. Bye then." I said and hung up. I walked to the kitchen and grabbed a couple of Advil and proceeded to get ready.

I put on a white tank top and a green button up waist coat, black jeans, my combat boots and a purple trench coat. I flew out to NY, I hate coming all the way out here every day. Sometimes I think I should just move here, but then I'd miss watching Gotham go insane. I can't miss that.

I walked into the lab and saw Jordan, Bruce and Tony.

"Miss me?" I asked as I walked in. Jordan smiled, Tony laughed and Bruce waved still facing the computers. I walked over to the trio of people.

"I have some new information about the curse." I said. All three of them looked up.

"From who?" Jordan asked.

"Well I was visiting Lo-" Bruce put his hand over my mouth quickly and just as fast without thinking I grabbed his hand and twisted it behind his back. Immediatly I let go.

"Sorry!" I said to Bruce.

"What are you trying to do? Make him-" Jordan began but was stopped.

Bruce chuckled. "Make the other guy come out? No. It's fine. Natalie could you step in here for a second?"

I nodded and followed him. Bruce shut the door behind us.

"Do not mention Loki." Bruce said.

"Why not? Doesnt she know my background or anything? She IS supposedly an agent..." I said.

"Loki has done some things to her, so," Bruce paused. "Do not mention him."

I nodded and we returned to the lab.

"Sorry for the wait guys, you know me, always up to something." I said.

"No kidding." I heard Tony say under his breath.

"So what were you saying?" Jordan asked.

"About the curse," I said and paused. "I have new information. This friend of mine..." Bruce looked at me. "He thinks he knows what type of curse it is."

"So whats his name?" Jordan asked.

"His name?" Bruce stared at me now. "Is..." I paused thinking if I should go with Bruce's advice or to follow my own. "Loki." I said and smiled. Jordan's eyes grew huge and Bruce put his head in his hands.

"Loki?" Jordan asked. "You're friends with LOKI? Bruce why do you trust her? I mean I can understand Tony..."

"Right here." Tony said and pretended to clear his throat.

I laughed, and of course Jordan probably thought I was even more insane now. "Look. A year ago, I wasnt officially a hero here. I was a villain. And of course I had -and have- friends that are villains. Well they were planning to kill all of the heroes that were in existance, and agents at S.H.E.I.L.D. as well. Of course, them trusting me, they told me their little plan and I helped the heroes. So you owe your little pool of life that you have, to me." I said and finished.

A flash of what was either anger or jealousy flashed across her face. She then hid it. "I'm sorry. Let's just get on with buissiness."
