Chapter 27

I didnt bother going all the way back to Gotham. I slept at a hotel instead for the night then the next morning, I returned to S.H.E.I.L.D.

"So who's my lucky partner?" I asked with fake enthusiasm.

Nova walked out. Nova, fantastic.

I crossed my arms and stared at Fury. I pointed at Nova without looking with my thumb. "You partnered me up with bucket head?" I asked.

Fury chuckled. "Yes, he was the only willing one other than Mr. Parker."

"You bribed him didn't you?" I asked. Fury smiled and nodded. I sighed. "Alright bucket head. We might as well get going." I began to walk away.

Nova walked up to me. "Don't you need to bring stuff? Like blankets? Or food?"

I chuckled. "You can. I know how to survive on the streets." I paused and brought my hand up to cover my mouth. "But I forgot, prissy heroes like you can't handle that."

Nova rolled his eyes. "Whatever. Let's go."

I smiled and we left. I held onto Nova's shoulders as we flew out of NY out to Africa, thats where Magneto currently is according to granddad.

"I need a break." Nova said, still flying. I put my thumb up and Nova landed. I let go of his shoulders and placed myself on the ground. We walked up to a shack type thing with a merchant.

"Hey, do you have any water?" Nova asked.

The merchant looked confused for a moment, then smiled. "You speak English! Yes, two African dollars please."

Nova and I exchanged looks. Nova dug in his pockets and took out $5 in American money.

"Is this good?" Nova asked. The merchant frowned and shook his head.

"I am sorry. We do not take those." The merchant said. Nova nodded and we walked away.

"Just couldn't wait to even get African money, nooo just have to kill this guy NOW, now now!" Nova said. I rolled my eyes and looked around.

There was a school house near with what looked like teacheRs. I began to walk over there.

"What are you doing?" Nova yelled. I kept walking and approached a teacher.

"Hi!" I said in african. "I am Natalie, I come from America. My friend over there is named Nova, hes from America too."

The teacher smiled. "Hi Natalie, nice to meet you. Im Miss Lynn." She replied in african.

"So my bozo friend forgot to bring african money. Do you mind if we take some water? We'll pay you back." I asked.

She nodded and smiled. "Sure, take as much as needed." I thanked the teacher.

"Nova!" I yelled. "Get your butt over here!" Nova came. "Grab a bucket. I asked if we could have some water, they said yes."

"You know African?" Nova asked.

I nodddd. "Oh yeah. And Russian, Spanish, French and Japanese." Nova raised his eyebrows then got water. When we were done we walked for a while and eventually found a small abandoned structure.

"Looks good to me!" I said.

"What?" He asked. "This looks fine to you? Dont they have hotels?"

I rolled my eyes. "We dont have money. Plus we can sleep here or in prison." I said. Nova sighed and picked a comfortable place to rest. I did the same thinking of home as I fell asleep.
