Star Wars Mini-Episode: The Love Awakens
The Resistance have defeated the evil First Order, although at some personal cost to General Leia Organa. Her husband has fallen and her son, seduced to the Dark Side, has now slinked back into the shadows.
The Battle of Starkiller Base united three very different people. Poe Dameron, Finn and Rey. Finn and Rey are still learning their places in the Resistance and all three are committed to supporting General Organa in her efforts to rebuild the Republic, which the First Order destroyed. However, each one carries secrets, unknown to each other.
Poe has been made aware that General Organa wants him to carry out one of the most dangerous missions ever known to the Resistance and, while he feels a sense of duty and doesn't know how to tell her 'no', is very reluctant to do it. He isolates himself to reduce the pain of his death for everybody else.
Rey is slowly becoming disillusioned with her new life. She took Luke Skywalker's rejection very personally and has now become homesick. Flying the Millennium Falcon with the Wookie is one of the best experiences ever and being accepted by the Resistance is something of a relief, but she still feels like she needs to return to Jakku. She feels like she's still waiting, but for who she doesn't yet know.
And Finn? He's carrying a huge burden, namely unrequited love. He felt an undeniable spark between him and Poe the first time they met and is desperate to recreate it again, but Poe's self-imposed exile means that Finn doesn't stand a chance...
