A Tale of Two Hearts

Alexis' POV

"Thank you Blake," I smiled. "Just be you, okay?"

"You want me to be me?" Blake asked. I nodded. "Okay, is your dad okay with me spending the night with you?"

"Uhm," I was speechless. "I'm not sure because my dad is already letting Adam, Sam, and Johan sleepover but I'm sure my dad will be perfectly fine to have you sleep over."

"Okay," Blake smiled.

"Alright," I nodded. "I'll see you later tonight." I walked over to Adam. "Hey."

"Hey," Adam smiled, giving me a kiss on my cheek. "So, everything okay?"

"Kind of," I sighed.

A slow song came on. "May I have this dance?" Adam asked. I nodded. We got on the dance floor. "So, what's wrong?" Adam put his right hand on my waist and he grabbed my right hand with his left. "What's wrong, Alexis?"

"Blake asked if he can sleepover," I sighed. "But I already have you, Sam, and Johan there."

"I'm perfectly fine with that," Adam shrugged.

"Yeah, but with you and Blake under one roof, something's gotta go wrong," I nodded. "Seriously, he looked like he wanted to rip your head off."

"I have one question for you," Adam sighed.

I looked up at Adam. "You're nervous," I smiled. He smiled and looked down at me. "Adam, don't hide something from me."

"You know how we text back and forth for the past year?" Adam asked. I nodded. "Well, to me, it seems like we were always dating. I just don't know if you feel the same way."

"Adam, I always thought you and I were dating because of the way we talked to each other," I smiled. "So, technically, without no question, we've been dating a little over a year now." Adam let out a sigh and I felt him less tense. "Something's on your mind."

"Because it is," Adam smiled. The music cut, the lights went out. A spotlight shown on Adam and I. I let go of him and a song started playing. He had on a countrymen mic. "I talked to your dad before doing this and this is the time he wanted me to do this."

"What are you doing?" I asked, through my smiling clenched teeth.

"Tell me, can you feel my heartbeat?"Adam sang and he grabbed my right hand and put it where his heart is located. "Tell me as I kneel down at your feet." Adam pulled me in close by the waist with his right hand. "I knew there would come a time when these two hearts would entwine." He held my right hand with his left. We started slow dancing using the whole dance floor as it was cleared off somehow."Just put your hand in mine, forever. For so long, I have been an island where no one could ever reach the shores. And we've got a whole lifetime to share. And I'll always be there. Darling, this I swear." I smiled at Adam as we looked into each other's eyes. "So please believe me, for these words I say are true. And don't deny me a lifetime loving you. If you ask will I be true? Do I give my all to you? Then I will say, I do." My eyes were getting watery as I smiled at him. "I'm ready to begin this journey. Well, I'm with you with every step you take and we've got a whole lifetime to share. And I'll always be there. Darling, this I swear." I let a tear slip as we swayed side to side. He wiped it away with his left thumb. "So please believe me, for these words I say are true. And don't deny me a lifetime loving you. If you ask will I be true? Do I give my all to you? Then I will say, I do. So, come on, just take my hand." I grabbed his hand as he spun me around and pulled me into him. "Oh, come on! Let's make a stand for our love. I know this is so hard to believe. So please." I laid my head on his chest as I smiled. "So please believe me, for these words I say are true. And don't deny me a lifetime loving you. If you ask will I be true? Do I give my all to you? Then I will say, I do."
