Adam's POV

"Yeah, she tells me that a lot," I nodded.

"You can play guitar?" Kelsey asked.

"Yeah," I smiled. "I sure can." Kelsey was gleaming with joy. "Why are so happy to know I play guitar?"

"I knew my sister was always a sucker for a guy who plays the six strings," Kelsey smirked.

"Actually, I didn't know he played guitar until a month after we got married," Alexis recalled. "Yeah. It was a month after we got married." I smiled at Alexis. "I sang one of my original songs to her on my guitar and she loves it."

"We call it our song but the original title is Heaven to Me," I smiled. "I sang it to her and she instantly fell in love with it."

"I'm in love with you," Alexis smiled. "You singing and playing a guitar is just a plus."

"Thanks," I smiled at her. A good fifteen years had passed. Alexis had given birth to our one and only daughter, Karina. I was in the living room sitting on the couch when Karina walked in wearing her cheer uniform. "You have a game today?"

"Dad, it's Friday," Karina replied. "I have a game almost every Friday."

"Okay," I sighed. "Your mom will be home in a second."

"Dad, Mom never told me what she works as," Karina sighed. "She was supposed to tell me yesterday but she got interrupted with work." I sighed. "She wanted me to ask you and have you tell me."

"Karina, your mom works for the FBI BAU," I nodded. "She goes on very dangerous missions and, uh, she even protects us." I looked at Karina. "That's why it's taking her so long to tell you what she works as. She doesn't want any of us to get hurt, but whatever your dream in life is, go for it. Your mother did and she's a huge success. I now work in the music business." I smiled. "Karina, it is okay to stand out because being normal, it's nothing compared to being yourself and standing out."

"I'm here, we have to hurry," Alexis said walking through the front door. She was wearing a blue wig and a very colorful dress. "Come on."

"Uhm, hun, what are you wearing?" I asked.

"Mom, why are you dressed like Katy Perry?" Karina asked.

"It's one of my missions," Alexis sighed. "I'm playing her at her concert tonight so she doesn't get killed." I looked at Alexis like she was crazy. "Look, as long as I don't get hurt, I'm fine. We've been together for almost nineteen years." Alexis started counting in her head. "Yeah, nineteen years because we got together when I was twenty."

"You had me four years later?" Karina asked.

"Yeah, now, we honestly don't have to talk about this," Alexis sighed. "We have to go. Come on Karina. I'll drop you off and then head to the concert."

"You two have fun," I nodded. "I'll pick you up, Karina."

"Really?" Karina asked.

"Yeah because we have your sweet sixteen dress fitting to take you to," I smiled. "Remember she's only staying later for you."

"I know," Karina nodded.

"Let's go," Alexis nodded. "I'll be home soon."

Alexis and Karina left. "Why do I have to be with somebody who's smart?" I asked. There was a knock on the door. "What the hell?!" I looked out the peephole and no one was there. "That's odd." The knock came again. I looked out the peephole and there was no one there. "What the hell?"

"Step away from the door, Adam," Alexis said walking in holding her gun and Karina behind her. "Now."

"What's going on?" I asked.
