"Are you sure you're okay?" Tara worries after you as you have to sit down, holding your hand against your chest. "I mean, you look really pale. Do you need a doctor or something?"
"No, I'm fine," you wheeze, shaking your head quickly. "I think... that I'm coming down with something."
"Oh," Tara wrinkles her nose. "Well that sucks. Like do you have congestion or something?"
"Something like that. I think.... that I need to go home for the day," you say apologetically, forcing yourself to rise wearily to your feet.
You feel exhausted.
Ever since the Lamia attack two days ago, you can't sleep. You pace up and down the hallways, checking on Cail constantly, fearing for him. You knew Sam and Dean were out there, doing their best to hunt down the beasts, but...
But you were still so worried.
Especially for the brothers.
Both of them had died.
How did they keep coming back?
Dean had been torn to shreds by hellhounds, sent after him by Lilith, who... Sam had then killed...
At least you think so.
You were a little confused on the timeline, to be honest.
That's what happens when you drop out off the grid mid-apocalypse, you think to yourself, sighing from your office chair.
You were just going to go home, have yourself a nice bubble bath... maybe drink a little wine.
Cail was at school, he wouldn't be home for several hours...
.You could relax a little bit.
You hadn't seen the Winchesters since they'd dropped you off at your house, and there hadn't been anymore attacks or any incidents that you'd heard of; you were keeping your ear out for any mysterious deaths in the vicinity (i.e., ripped out hearts), but nothing had been showing up.
The Lamia's were probably gone now.
Which meant the Winchesters would be going with them.
Which shouldn't make your chest ache like it does.
They'd been in town two days and already you'd gotten hurt, though it wasn't their fault. If it wasn't for them showing up, you weren't sure if you would have been able to fight off the Lamia on your own or not.
You sigh, and Tara has to help you to your feet, gently tugging on your arms so you can rise with a grimace.
Being slammed into the sidewalk had left some pretty serious bruises along your back,
You definitely hadn't missed being tossed around.
Though that adrenaline rush, that flare of your senses - that had always been your favorite part; it was what you had always went for, why you'd been so reckless - it made you feel alive.
You hadn't felt it in a long time.
Not since your last tryst with Dean in the boathouse, which had resulted in your pregnancy.
God, your dad had been so mad when you'd told him.
"A fucking Winchesters baby," he'd muttered, shaking his head derisively. "Why am I not surprised?"
And then he'd completely disappeared on you.
You had no idea what had happened to him, and you'd had other things on your mind then running after your dad.
