"Yo, dude. Do you mind taking Hayley back to the beach to let her get her car? I've gotta run in; I'm exhausted." Patch asked Taylor. We were all still in the car but parked in Patch's driveway. I had the chance to see Brittany.
"Before we do that," I interrupted, "I'll be right back." Unbuckling my seatbelt, I got out of the car and walked up to the house. After several knocks, Brittany opened the door. My heart was still pounding.
"Oh my gosh." She said after a moment. She was looking behind me at Patch's mustang. I blushed.
Her eyes landed on me and she crossed her arms. As she looked me up and down, she asked "Why do your pants look utterly and shamelessly destroyed?"
Destroyed? What the heck? I hadn't fallen!
Looking down, I noticed some of the marks on my pants. Apparently I managed to get a little too messy with spray paint.
"Oh," I muttered before looking back up at her, "Yeah, um, your brother sort of made me vandalize Zac's house."
Brittany's eyes widened. "W-what?"
I nodded, biting my lip. "He's probably calling the cops right now. Mind if I just go inside and maybe hide in your closest for the rest of my life?" I pointed behind her, into the house.
I was dead serious, too. He probably was calling the cops and that terrified me.
She let out a breath of air, shaking her head. She was currently wearing simple purple pjs; she was looking extra cute and girly.
"I swear, my brother is going to get all of us into trouble one day." She said.
"Yeah, I know." I lowered my voice to a whisper. "Taylor was with us."
Grinning, she asked. "Oh? How was that? Did you happen to get the name of his cologne if he wears any?"
I thought back to the glorious smell he had on his clothing and on him, just in general. He had smelt damn good. So attractive..
I frowned. "Sadly, no. But from the looks of it, he's gonna be taking me to go get my car!" I couldn't help but to blush and smile as I told her.
But wait..
Being in a car with Taylor York. Alone.
Suddenly, my smile disappeared and Brittany hopped onto it quickly.
"Don't worry, just act natural Hayles. Act like he's just a friend; because he is."
Oh right. Just a friend.
I bit my lip. I wanted so much more than that.
Nodding, I said, "Alright. Thanks Bri."
The car horn was honked and Patch yelled from his car. "Yo!"
Brittany and I rolled our eyes before giving each other hugs.
"Send a text when you're home?" Bri asked.
"Sure thing." I said, turning away.
I began walking back to the car. Patch was getting out of the front seat as Taylor was going around the car to hop in the drivers seat. I watched him. Damn, he looked good. That leather jacket on him made him even hotter.
My heartbeat was racing uncontrollably now. Patch passed by me and quickly placed his hand on my shoulder. "You did well."
I rolled my eyes and shrugged his hand off. Walking to the passenger side of the car, I thought of everything that could possibly go wrong. I was good at doing that.
Taylor started the car as soon as I got in completely. I buckled my seatbelt and focused forward. Well, I didn't focus for long. I caught myself stealing side glances at Taylor. His right arm was stretched out with only his right hand on the steering wheel. He was leaned back, looking extremely relaxed.
I, on the other hand, was tense. He probably could tell, too. I closed my eyes and asked God why he had to put me in this situation. For a moment, I sat there trying to focus on the outside world. Then it hit me.
His really good, impressive smell. He smelled so good.
Suddenly, he reached for the stereo and cut the music up. Some R&B/Pop music was playing and I heard him start to hum a little. The song sounded a bit familiar. Eventually, I was able to remember what song it was.
Antidote by Travis Scott.
If he didn't stop right then, I was going to have a heart attack. Why was this stranger so perfect?
"You're so tense. Relax, sweetheart." He said, calmly.
Holy shit. Sweetheart.
In that exact moment, I promise I melted. He called me sweetheart and it was the sexiest thing. The hottest thing. I bit my lip and closed my eyes to keep my thoughts heavenly and appropriate.
"I'm not tense." I blurted, feeling my cheeks on fire.
"Yes, you are. Just relax. I don't bite. At least not hard." He said, teasingly. I immediately regretted looking at him then. He gave me a wink.
He softly laughed. "I'm kidding. Now, what kind of car do you have?"
I swallowed, trying to remember what kind of car I had. Yes, i didn't know. At least not in that second. Could you blame me though? I was sitting beside Taylor freaking York.
"A Nissan. A black Nissan." I answered.
"Ahh, alright. Well, I think I see it already." He said. I noticed we were now in the parking lot by the beach. I did indeed see my car.
He parked beside it and before I could say thank you, he got out. I let out a breath I didn't know I had been holding in. He opened my door and smirked down at me. Trying not to turn 50 shades of red, I carefully got out of the mustang.
"Thank you." I said honestly, looking at him as he stood in front of me.
He kept his eyes on mine, still smirking. "You're welcome. Hey, don't hesitate to send me a message on the good 'ole Facebook. I wouldn't mind getting to know you." And with that, ladies and gentleman, he gave me another wink and got back inside the car.
