Start of a Journey

6 Months Later ~

6 months have passed and you've started to adjust to your new life in Ordon. Your house is almost built, but a little part of you doesn't want to leave. You've grown close to Link, and unbeknownst to him, you've developed an attraction to him as well. But of course you kept it to yourself. You begged for him to let you have a job. You just could't stand the feeling of not working, so Link got you a job working with him on the ranch. Ilia stalking you has become a regular thing. Things are starting to get back to normal for you. Link even got you a horse, named Loki, so you could accompany him on missions.

You wake up early to the smell of breakfast. You already know Link is awake. You come down ready to eat, when you notice Link is shirtless. He turns to reveal his toned abdomen and pecks. Mother of Din you think to yourself. He catches you staring and chuckles to himself. "If you're wondering, I spilled water on my shirt and left it out to dry." You quickly look away, with your face as red as a tomato. "So ready for work?" You say in a desperate attempt to change the conversation. "Well actually we have a job outside the ranch today." You Hylian ears twitched. "We're going to Castle Town to see the princess." You felt a little pang in your chest. You always heard about how the Princess and the Hero fancies each other, but you never had the courage to ask for yourself. Well until today that is. "Is it true that you and the princess are together?" It was as if your mouth had a mind of its own. Damn you mentally cursed yourself. Link sighed as if he heard this question a thousand times. "Heard the rumors huh?" Link ran a hand through his golden locks. "It's not true. We're just friends. Sure she's pretty and everything, but we're just opposites." You felt a surge of relief fill your body. "So how long will we be gone?" You asked trying to change the subject, before he caught on. "Hmmm, I would say about 2 days going and 2 days coming back."

After eating breakfast you got dressed and packed for your journey. When you came outside you say Loki and Empona tied to a carriage. Russel and Colin were talking to Link who was packing the carriage. Of course, to no surprise, Ilia was stalking just around the village gate. You rolled your eyes and you went to the spring to relax before your trip. You sat by the water and braided your (h/c) hair. A fairy came and kissed your nose and floated to your lap. It flew away when a stumbling noise came from behind you. Link had tripped over a rock. Had he been watching you? He looked up and locked eyes. His blue eyes seemed like an endless sea. It was hard not to feel attracted to him. "Are you spying on me?" you asked teasingly. His face flushed red at the notion. "Ye- umm no. I-I was just c-coming to tell you that it's a-almost time to go." You giggled at his nervousness and followed him to the carriage.  

You sat inside the cart while Link drove the horses. You could see Colin and the other children in the distance waving. "Bye Link! Bye (y/n)! Come back safely." Ilia sat back and rolled her eyes. You could imagine her thinking about how it should be her and not you. You laughed at the thought. You could almost see her face turning red. "Hey (y/n)." Link's voice cut through your thoughts. You poked your head out the cart. "What's up?" Up head you could see the gate of Kakariko Village. "Have you ever tried a hot spring?" "Can't say that I have." Link smiled. Well today's your lucky day!
