You awoke in Link's arms. The sun was brighter than usual. The birds sang louder and more harmonious. It felt like everything was right in the world. You noticed Link was awake staring at you. "Good morning beautiful." He said running a hand though your hair. "Good morning." You yawned. Link shifted out of bed. "Ready to finish this journey?" You asked. Link nodded and headed for the bathroom. You brushed the knots out of your hair. Near death experiences don't usually leave you with nice looking hair. Link came out fully dressed and looked at you. "So I was thinking... What if you moved in with me?" You looked at him for a minute. "Are you sure you want to move things so fast?" Link cocked his head in confusion. "What do you mean?" "I mean shouldn't we take our time before we make such a big step. They're already building my house next to yours. By the time we get done it should be done. Maybe we should start as neighbors before we switch to room mates." Link thought about it for a moment. Meanwhile you got dressed and got ready to leave. "I see your point. If that's what you want. Then so be it." You pinched his cheek teasingly. "Awww look at you trying to make big boy decisions." Link grabbed you by the waist and brought you to his chest. He pecked your forehead before letting go. "Go get packed." You slid away and did just that.
You were ready to go by noon. Link put the stuff in the cart. Loki and Epona (an~ my auto correct has been botching Epona's name! I finally got it fixed. Sorry guys) were waiting by the spring. Fairies circles the horses just as they did you. Of course this time the circumstances weren't dire. "(Y/n)!" Link called to you. "Ready to go?" You nodded and sat next to Link. He quirked an eyebrow. "Not sitting in the back today?" "No. I'd feel much safer next to the Hero of Time than behind him." You winked. It was time to go home to Ordon.
On the way home you notice that Link is looking around at all times. You reach for his hand to relax him. "What's wrong?" Link looked at you with a steely gaze. It wasn't the same as the ball. It wasn't jealousy you saw. It was intent. "I'm making sure there's no hoards of bubblin." You shook your head. "Faron woods is about thirty minutes away." Link looked at you confused. "So?" "So there's a spring with fairies. If anything happens between then and now we should be fine." Link looked at you with a serious gaze. "You don't get it (y/n). We made it to the spring with luck. Bubblin aren't merciful creatures. You got lucky all it did was drag you. I can't bear to see you in that pain again. You mean too much to me." You felt your heart in your throat. You squeezed Link's hand and gave him a smile. "I'm not helpless. With you by my side nothing can harm me. But remember that you mean a lot to me too. I don't want you to get hurt because of me." Link smiled. "You're one special girl."
After an hour you were finally home. The children all waited in front of the house. Or houses. Your home was finally built. As you got off the cart, the children rushed at both you and Link. Oh how you missed this. "(Y/n)! We missed you so much!" You patted them on the head. "I missed you all too! Now can you let go before I suffocate." You felt a familiar sensation. The feeling of being watched from a far. Ilia was watching from the town entrance. The four day vacation wasn't enough time away from her. Russel came with Fado. "I see you've returned safely. Anything interesting happen?" Link looks at you and grabs your hand. "You can say that." Link says. "It's about time." Russell laughs. "Congrats." Fado says. "Now about your new home." They lead you inside the small abode. When you enter there's a kitchen and dining table. Behind is a room with a fireplace and two woven couches. It only has one room and restroom. It's perfect size for you. You turn and hug both Russell and Fado. "Thank you so much. Words cannot express my gratitude for both you and the village. It feels just like home." Russell chuckles. "It's no problem. You're one of us now." Fado nods in agreement. "Now get your rest you two. The day after tomorrow it's back to work." As they exits Russell turns to you again. "Oh by the way, there's a feast tonight to celebrate your return. Be ready by sun down." And with that they leave. It's only you and Link now. "Well looks like I'm your new neighbor." You say jokingly. Link smiles and kisses you. You feel daggers on you. "Looks like we have a stalker." Link sighs. "She's going to have to get used to it. I'm not letting her ruin this relationship."
Link leaves to get ready for the feast. You look at your closet. No nice dresses or anything. "Ugh it doesn't always pay off to be a warrior." You say to yourself. You hear a knock at your door. You open it to see Beth with a small package. "Hi (y/n)! Momma said you might need help getting ready so she sent you some stuff." Beth comes inside and sets the box on your dresser. "It's so nice to have you around. The boys are so stupid and Ilia is just weird." Beth looked at you. "It's like you're my older sister." You smiled and pat her on the head. You felt the same way. It was always just you and your brothers. You never talked to the girls in the village because they feared you. Having Beth around was like having a sister you never had. "Awww well you're like my little sister Beth." She jumped with joy. "So that means I can tell you anything right?" "Yes of course." You smiled at her. She started getting nervous and fidgeting her hands. "Well I like this boy. But he doesn't notice me because I'm not a girly girl." "Well Beth, I'll tell you what. How about I help you get dressed up tonight so you can impress him." Her face lit up. "Really? Please!"
After almost two hours, you and Beth were ready. Beth's mother had given you a white dress that reached your mid-thigh and had long sleeves. Beth helped you curl your hair in loose curls. She though it was a good idea to add random flowers in your hair. You wore gold bangles around your ankles, as most girls did in Ramona as tradition. You helped Beth comb her hair straight down. She wore a similar dress and a flower crown. She was like your mini me. You told Link you would meet him there so you could have more time to work on Beth. By sundown you were both ready to go.
The feast was huge. Food was placed around a huge fire as people danced and children played. Link was talking with the mayor when you arrived. He turned to see you and his jaw dropped. He ran up to you. "Wow. You look great. I like this more than the gown you wore at the ball. It's more natural." You smiled and nudged him. "A simple you look pretty would have been nice." He laughed. You walked Beth to her mother. "Thank you so much for the dress. I love it." Beth's mother smiled and took your hand. "It's the least I can do. Beth looks up to you so much you know? It's my way of thanking you." Beth wandered off and sat with Colin. So that must be the boy she likes. "So how do I look?" Beth asked him. Colin turned red. "You look pretty Beth." Beth's smile grew wide. "You really think so?" "Yeah! But I prefer the other you better." Colin said. Beth didn't look upset. Instead she looked elated. While you were watching Link came up from behind you. "May I have this dance?" Link reached out his hand. "Why yes you may." The song wasn't slow paced like at the ball. Instead it was fast moving with a rhythm that was almost a heart beat. The music made you come alive. You saw Ilia staring through you. She still had her hair swept to the side. The girl still had her basic attire. You had no time for childish games. When she was ready to grow up, then you would talk to her about the situation. But for now you'd rather enjoy dancing with Link.
After dancing for what seemed like an eternity, you finally sat down and let the feast begin. The mayor spoke up. "Today we celebrate the homecoming of Link and (y/n). Now we all know about Link, our humble courageous hero. But what about (y/n)? This girl who was brought to us by our hero. A girl who has worked hard since the day she was brought to us. Today we celebrate not only your homecoming, but your arrival to this village." Everyone clapped and you thanked them all. But before anyone could eat Link stood up. "Before we enjoy our feast I just have one more thing to say. Over this journey (y/n) and I just returned from, we strengthened a bond we formed over these past few months." Ilia huffed as Link continued. "And during this journey is when I discovered that (y/n) is the only one for me." He reaches a hand to you and lifts you up next to him. He looks at you. "(y/n) and I started a relationship on this journey. And I hope for it to grow stronger with each passing day." He leans in and kisses you and you hear cheers and aww's in the crowd. The music started up again and the feast began. And so went the perfect night.
