Family Pt.1

Link rushes to your side as you stare your brother in the face. Link reaches for his sword but you put your hand up to signal him to stop. You drop to your knees and inspect Ashur's face. He had your same (e/c) eyes and (h/c) hair. He was no longer the built lean man you had remembered. Now he was gaunt and starved. His once shoulder length locks, now fell to the middle of his back. Ashur extended his hand to touch your face. Link tensed but stood still. "Never in my life would I think to see my little sister again." Ashur pulled you into an embrace. Tears streamed as you held your brother. "I thought you were dead. Both you and Jonas... Wait where's Jonas?!" Ashur pulled away to look at you. Almost to make sure you were real. "Jonas took off with a caravan. He didn't want to stay in Hyrule. He said there was nothing left for him here. The last time he wrote me, he was in Atella." You heart felt so relieved. To finally have your brother back. Ashur turned to face Link. "Who's this?" You reached your hand out to Link. "After Ramona burned down, I was taken by them. Link saved me from them and took me in and gave me a home in Ordon. He's also the love of my life." Ashur approached Link. He got down on one knee and bowed his head. "Thank you, Hero of Time, for saving my sister when I couldn't." Link reached out his hand. "(Y/n) is an amazing girl. Her family is my family." The sun was starting to rise. Dawn was coming. "Ashur, why don't you come and live with me in Ordon. We'll find you a job and we can start over!" Link held your hand and nodded in agreement. "(Y/n), you would really do that for me? Even after the way I treated you?" You nodded and reached for his hand. "We're family. Nothing can change that. I can't live with myself knowing my brother starves while I sleep in a cozy cottage. Now pack up. We're going home." You turned on your heel and started preparing the carriage. Link turned to Ashur. "Your sister's a lot stronger from when I first saved her." "I'm glad she found someone who saw her for her and cares so much about her. Thank you." Link smiled. "Come on let's get you home."

When Ashur first arrived to Ordon it was hard. He wasn't used to the quiet serenity of a village anymore. He moved in with you and slept on the couch. Ashur decided to leave his hair long, but after days of begging , you got him to shave his face. Ashur gained his strength and weight back quickly, and even got a job farming with you and Link. The children loved Ashur, especially Talo. Talo was glued to him the way Colin was glued to Link. Everything was perfect. He even got along with Link.

After a month Ashur was officially settled in. The three of you were at work messing around. Ashur and Link were competing who can throw more bale while you washed the goats when suddenly a voice that made you cringe rang out. "HEEEEYYYYYY MR. ASHUR" It was the mail runner. "Ashur? But you never get mail?" The mail man handed the letter and ran off before you could send a goat after him. "Who's it from Ash?" You peaked over his shoulder. "It's from Jonas..." You felt your heart race. Last week you and Ashur sent Jonas a letter telling him everything that had happened. "What does it say?" He handed it to you.

words cannot describe my happiness to know that our baby sister lives. After Ramona I ran away to forget. I joined this caravan to forget our family. But now, I'm coming back. I want to see her face. I need to see (y/n) I'm sending this and then riding as fast as I can back to Hyrule. I'll see you all soon.
