Family Pt 3

"Well if it isn't the pretty boy Jonas?" Ashur said clapping him on the back. "I see you're doing well brother. I love the braid. It fits you." Jonas was always the handsome one. Yeah Ashur was good looking. But in a manly way. Jonas though, he had a boyish look that made all the girls swoon for him. Ashur looked at you and approached you slowly. He wasted no time taking you into him arms. "There are no words that could tell you how sorry I am. I thought they had gotten to you the way they did mom." He looked up at Link. "Who's this?" Before you could answer, Ashur cut in. "That's our future bother in law. And our sister's savior." Jonas approached him. "You saved my sister? Do you love her?" Link answered without missing a beat. "I do love her. More than anything." Jonas nodded and patted Link's shoulder. "Very well. Take good care of her. Although from the looks of it she won't need much caring for. Your swordsmanship has come a long way sister." You smiled and grabbed his hand. "Come Jonas. The village has been waiting for you."

Night fell and the feast began. You danced with Link until your feet burned. Ashur talked with the men and Jonas told everyone tales of his travels outside of Hyrule. Everything was going way better than you had expected. You say next to Jonas as he told the children about how he managed to escape an angry band of thieves when he paused for a moment. He looked up and saw Ilia staring at him. He leaned over and whispered in your ear. "Who's that?" You sighed. "That's Ilia. She's probably upset that there's another one of us here. She wasn't too happy about Ash either." "Think she'll talk to me?" He said fixing himself. "No. She has a huge crush on Link and for obvious reasons she hates me. I don't see why you would want to talk to her." That's when you noticed that he was gone. You looked around and saw him going to start conversation with her. You went to grab Ashur and Link. The three of you hid behind rocks as they talked. "Oh wow would you look at that. Finally someone who isn't begging for (y/n)'s attention." Ilia said coldly. "Sounds like you're a bit jealous of my sister now. " Jonas said teasingly. Ilia huffed and turned to walk away. "Wait, I just want to talk to you." "Why?" "Can't I just have a nice conversation with a pretty girl?" You wanted to vomit. Ashur snorted trying not to laugh. "For being such a pretty boy, he sure doesn't have much taste in women." You rolled your eyes. "Pretty? More like petty." Link hushed both of you. "Are you making fun of me?" Ilia asked. Jonas pulled his hair back and widened his eyes. "I've seen him do this before to the baker's daughter!" You said quietly. He came closer to her almost like trying to corner his prey. "I would never make fun of you. I'm just interested that's all." Ilia punched him in the gut and huffed. "Go prey on some other foolish girl." Link and Ashur bursted into laughter. Your cover was blown. "You guys were watching me the whole time?!" Ashur was on the floor in tears. Link tried to look at Jonas seriously but he couldn't. "(Y/n)! Control your boyfriend!" Jonas whined. You smiled and put your arm around him. "I'm sorry brother, but you just got reject by the most annoying girl in the whole village. It's pretty funny." Jonas hung his head. "Had it been anyone else, I'd be bedding her right now." You punched your brother in the arm. "Ow! What the hell sis!" "I don't want to know about your private affairs! Now come on. Let's go for a walk." You led your brother away from the laughing duo and took him to the spring. "Is this where you come to clear your head?" Jonas asked. You nodded looking at the fairies dance around each other under the moonlight. "I would come here too. So what's on your mind?" "I just wanted to get away from the noise and talk to you." Jonas smiled and sat on the ground. "What are your plans Jonas? I know it's soon to ask but do you plan on staying here?" Jonas looked up at the moon. "I've been moving around and seen a lot of places.  Settling down doesn't sound like a bad idea, but where would I stay?" "Ashur has a cottage. It's small but we could always build an extra room for you." "And what about you? Where have you been living?" Jonas was looking at you hard. If he was going to stay here then you couldn't lie to him. You swallowed hard. "I'm living with Link.." Jonas stood up and approached you face to face. He raised his hand and placed it gently on your head. "You're really growing up you know. It seems like not long ago you were this little girl who always tried to keep up with us. Mom was always worried about how'd you grow up. Always concerned you'd never find a suitor because you were so boyish." You smiled at the memories. "I'm glad that you found your own path sis. Link looks like a good guy." You smiled and hugged your brother. "HEY! I WANT A HUG TOO!" Ashur ran and joined the hug. He turn around and called to Link. "You get in here too! You're part of this family too you know!" Link came up and Ashur grabbed his hand and threw him in the circle. You smiled. You had your family back.
