---- This story is written from Troye's P.O.V.----
I'm standing in a crowd, alone. And every second passing, reminds me I'm not home. People walk and run past me, all in the opposite direction of the one I'm facing. Their faces seem so different, strange. Even though their physiques seem alive their faces are numb. Like they have been outlived, pale with dark circles under their glazed eyes. They are empty, as empty as I wish my head would be. It's cold, it's freezing cold. I look around, it seems like a city, I can't exactly place where I am though. I look to the side, my husband; Connor is standing next to me. our hands are intertwined. He doesn't seem to be bothered by the people passing us. I let go of his hand. I hear a dull sound coming from afar, it's a beep. It gets louder and louder, it starts to sting in my ears. I look around me and the city seems to be disappearing, there are red lights.. red traffic lights everywhere around me. My heart skips a beat and I forget to breathe. These red lights numb my skin, I can't feel anything besides fear. It crawls upon my back, waiting to surprise me. The beep pierces through my whole body, I'm surrounded by red traffic lights. Connor doesn't seem to notice them, like he's as numb as the rest of the people on this street. I want to yell at him but my throat won't let a sound escape my mouth. my eyes widen as the light approaches us, my vision blurs, this can't happen.. I need to protect him! 'CONNOR WATCH OUT!' I scream. The beep quits. I'm back at the party where I was before my mind went bananas. Everyone is staring at me, how could they not though, I just screamed really loudly. It's silent, dead silent. I look at Connor, he's standing on the large table in our living room. A glass of red wine in his hand, the one we bought in Italy together. It seems like he was just toasting after the speech he had given about the book he'll be publishing in.. I look at the clock, shit. He was just publishing it. I fake a grin and shake my head lightly, 'Kidding, I just wanted everyone to hear me before Connor outshines me forever' I say awkwardly. And I wink. I hear some people snigger, Connor's smiling, thank god. All eyes slowly turn to him again. My hands start shaking, I walk through our crowded living room with my head hanging low. I only see shoulders and necks, sometimes a mouth. I don't want to see their whole faces. The beep comes through again, it's still dull. But I know it won't take that long until it makes me insane again. I walk to the kitchen, people are bumping into me, I stagger. I can feel the heat of human life in my bones, it's suffocating me. The people with their glazed eyes are suffocating me. The beep gets louder and louder, it's like a rope getting strung around my neck, tighter and tighter. I grab my pills from the kitchen cabinet, I throw some in my hand and then I quickly put them in my mouth. The beep vanishes, I calm down. It's Connor's party after all, and his husband shouldn't ruin that.
