Chapter Nine

Roman:

"Listen I'm not going to bug you about this but, I'm curious. When exactly is Neko's heat?".

I rolled my eyes at Akito "how the hell should I know?", how could he ask me something like that? Well it's not like I hadn't wondered when Neko's heat would come, but I'm not entirely worried about it right now. "Because, you two are mates he should've had it a while ago, but hey don't mind my curiosity. Not my business when you bang your boyfriend" He threw his hands up in surrender, I pushed him over and laughed.

I wasn't to worried about when Neko's heat was. After all it's only been two months since he's been out of the hospital and I didn't plan on doing any sexual activities with him even then. I want him to be more comfortable around me, he doesn't even get naked around me. But I'm not complaining, I said I'd wait.

"It'll happen when he's ready okay? Then I'll let you know when to clear out" I laughed, Akito smirked "mating season isn't that far off you know"

"Well yeah" I ruffled my hair trying to avoid the conversation, mating season huh? That's gonna be a real bitch...
But whether Neko goes into heat or not is fine with me, to say the least I'm alittle worried...he's my first mate, so I don't know how I'd go about knowing what he doesn't like or does like, and I don't want to do something that will get me hit or thrown out. Or impregnating him if he doesn't want that....

"Akito stop being gross, if my brother goes into heat we're out of here" Miku said, I sighed "it's not like the house has to be empty you know"

"Mmm yes it does, I don't want to have a burning image or sound of you banging my little brother and him moaning and screaming, hell no. I've already lived through it once. I won't again." He said.

Akito burst into a fit of laughter "WHO??"

"My sister. So no."

Me and Akito just kept on laughing, we must have been laughing for a while, it took me a minute to realize Neko was sitting at the kitchen bar table staring at us. He gave me a small smile, I smiled back standing up and walking over to him, "what's so funny" he asked.

"Dumb stuff" I said quickly

Miku nodded his head "manly stuff"

"Manly?" Neko frowned. I chuckled, I noticed small dark circles under his eyes. I was a bit worried, he hasn't been sleeping lately even though he says he has, but I know him well enough now to notice when he's lying...

"Do you want anything to eat?" I asked, he cutely bit his lip nodding alittle, I smiled "well then I'll make you something, how's that sound?"

"Good" he replied. I started making bacon and eggs, Akito tried to pile up on a bunch of toast and jelly, Miku wanted nothing but rice and BBQ sauce (why?), I was happy that Neko was eating and laughing. He hasn't been himself since he was hurt...but I'm hoping in time he'll come around more.  "Roman" he called to me, I turned to him moving his beautiful blonde hair from his adorable face, "hm?"

"Uhm well...." He started fidgeting alittle, "I...can we...we...uhm. C-can we go to the beach?"

My eyes widened "huh??"

"Well we havent been together, a-and we have that spot that's closed off just for us and I was just thinking we could...well...hang out?" He whispered the last part. I grabbed hold of him and squeezed him into me, smiling from ear to ear, he protested alittle but I didn't care I'm so happy right now I could do four handsprings! "Of course!"

Neko:

We weren't as alone as we'd hoped, Miku and Akito came along with us to the beach but were busy skipping stones so me and Roman just walked about. It was a bit silent between us, alittle small talk here and there, he slid his hand into mine and squeezed it which made me jump alittle. But I relaxed and squeezed back, I was happy that I asked him to come here I wanted to spend alittle more time with him, as his mate.

"You know I was a bit surprised" he began "I really didn't expect you to ask me to hang out"

"I wanted us to be together more often, we are mates after all" I said.

He looked down at me "you're right, but just this makes me happy. Being able to be with you is enough for me"

My heart skipped at that, I wanted to say something but the words wouldn't leave me...so I just kept silent, watching the waves come and go. Roman is so much different than to what I was sadly used to, he took his time around me and never forced me to do anything....he holds me and talks to me....I've inly had one kind of relationship and it was always violent. Could I give this a chance? Yes. I could, I want to be with Roman now....more than ever.
