I don't have to open my eyes and look at him to know his eyes are wide with surprise and confusion and concern. Might as well explain now while I'm on the subject. "Erwin was my former owner," I start.

"Levi, you don't have to-"

"I want to," I interrupt, squeezing his hand lightly and take a breath before continuing. "Everything started out fine, as always. We were happy. After awhile he started becoming lazy, having me do every single chore around the house like a maid. It was kind of annoying but I realized I was just doing what I was bred for; housework. That wasn't so bad, I could handle that just fine. But then he became abusive, and I put up with it at first because I knew he had a bondage kink so I didn't really think much about it-"

Eren leaned forward and waved his free hand to cut me off. "Wait wait wait wait wait--he had a bondage kink?" He asks, causing my cheeks to flush with color.

"Yes. That's why I didn't really care at first, but once I came to my senses and realized what he was doing wasn't out of love I finally had enough. I retaliated and fought back and he kicked me out. One would think it was tragic to be kicked out, but I was more than happy. He was a selfish, abusive son of a bitch who cared only about his own personal desires. Being a stray was way better than staying with him."

Eren was silent for a minute then have my hand a reassuring squeeze. "Is cleaning really all he used you for?"

I hum. "And sex. Fuck, the sex was terrible." I bark out a laugh. "Funny. Saying something like that makes me sound like a woman who left her husband to prey on younger men to satisfy her sexual cravings."

Eren's face was completely flushed as he spoke. "You...had sex with your owner?" I nod.

"Honestly kid, it's nothing new. It was okay at first, I guess. Before I knew what he was really like. But things started to get out of control." Goosebumps rise on my skin as I open my mouth to voice my next words. I was surprised I had even gotten this far without having a panic attack. "His favorite thing to use during sex was a leash and collar. He had me wear the collar all the time though since it had my name on it, but eventually it just became another way of controlling me."

I squeaked in surprise when Eren wrapped his arms around me and buried his face into my neck. "I'm so sorry you had to go through that, Levi."

I smile and sigh as I return the hug. "It's not your fault. When I ran into him a few weeks ago I actually believed he had changed..."

Eren pulled away, cupping my cheek with his hand as he looked into my eyes. "You deserve so much better than that. You're an amazing person, Levi. Anyone would be lucky to have you."

My lips curve up into a smile and I nuzzle my face into his hand happily, enjoying the feel of his gentle touch.

"Levi."

Eren murmurs my name, and my breath hitches when I open my eyes to find him leaning closer, closing in on me.

I surprise us both when I close the remaining distance between us to connect our lips, but neither of us pull away. I've been wondering for awhile what it would be like to kiss Eren, and unlike Erwin, he's so gentle. I feel safe with Eren. I lean further into him and he pulls me into his lap so that I'm straddling him. My tail curls when he licks my bottom lip, and I part my lips for him. Eren hums quietly as I allow his tongue to explore my mouth, shuddering at how good it felt.
