>Chapter 1<

A tingling sensation rang throughout my body. Especially at the ends of my body, my fingers and my toes. The sensation faded away after a few seconds, but something else followed after to replace it.

A huge shock made me start to shake violently as it entered my body. The shock travelled quickly through my body, almost like an electric current flowing through me. The tingling sensation returned to my fingers and toes again, then diminished again almost as quickly as it had come. I felt the jolt of energy or shock occur four more times, then the darkness swamped over me again.

***************

The darkness began to wither away as a golden light began to penetrate through. The golden light divided into many little rays that shone brightly as the darkness cringed away from it. The golden rays could only be coming from one source, the Sun. If I could sense the light that means...

Beep, Beep, Beep, Beep

Oh great, my worst enemy, the alarm clock. I swear if someone played that prank on me again, I will murder them. Today I am not in a playful mood and just wanted some rest. If someone did set it, namely my brother, I would have to plot out a rather evil plan for my revenge.

My arm was raised only a few centimetres when I felt the painful sensation shoot through me, this aching agony mixed with a sharp, shrill pain. I could not bear the pain and I stifled down a scream of sheer pain from erupting from my lips. I let my arm fall back down to my side, just to let the pain subside.

Why did my arm hurt so much when I moved it? Why did I even have pain in the first place? What was going on?

Beep, Beep, Beep, Beep

My alarm kept persistently beeping making me aware that it was time to get up as I would not be able to fall back asleep now. My eyes were extremely heavy and I had a tough time opening them. Finally, I managed to pry them open to the familiar surroundings of my room.

Instead of the light purple walls I see every day, I saw the walls painted a distraught, emotionless white. Four white walls confined me in this unfamiliar room.

Slowly, I turned my head to the side after what I experienced with my arm, better to be safe than sorry. I needed to gather my bearings to my surroundings as I had no idea where I was.

The room was a neutral white, with one picture hanging from each wall, varying in size. There was a single, basic window on the wall to my right. The sunlight was peaking through the blinds which someone had left half open. What surprised me most was I was hooked up to many machines on both my left side and right side. Various tubes were hooked up to each of my arms. I could see clear liquids flowing from the machine into my body. Coming to the conclusion, I was in the hospital. However, the big question was how did I get here?

As if right on cue, the door slowly creaked open and in came a lady dressed in a pale blue outfit, whom I am presuming is a nurse. She looked over to me to see if I was awake and she gave me a small smile when she saw my attentive eyes trained on her.

The nurse was a petite, think-boned lady with jet black hair down to her shoulders. She resembled a little pixie. Her hazel eyes stood out against her pale complexion, but she had very defined cheekbones.

She practically glided across floor to the side of my bed, making me almost believe she was a pixie. Her motions were just so graceful and fluid. All she needed now was the wings.

I opened my mouth to speak, but no words came out. Which made me realize just how raw my throat was. The nurse chuckled at my attempt to speak and said, "My name is Catherine and I am one of the nurses who has been caring for you. How are you feeling?"
