Society thinks we should be people that we are not. Take me for example, I'm Olivia Parker. My father is the governor and both him and society expect me to be perfect. But I'm not.
"Hey doll face" My best friend Shawn says and I smile. Shawn Jacobs, the definition of a player. He likes girls a lot but he still gets good grades. But most importantly, he's my best friend.
"Hey dream boat" I say back and he chuckles while giving me a kiss on the cheek. No we are not in a relationship but like I said, we are best friends so it's okay
"What are you doing after school?" He asks while wrapping his arm around me as we walk into school
"I have to go to this boring party with my father. Wanna come?" I ask and he smirks. Ever since my mom died when I was 13, my one and only goal was to rebel against my father but of course that didn't work since he's the governor. Whenever I have to go to a party and be the "perfect daughter", I bring Shawn because he is the only one who keeps me sain. Plus, he also helps me tick off my father which is a complete bonus.
"I'd love to" he says and I am tripped by a blonde bimbo who starts flirting with Shawn
"Hey Shawn! Wanna hang out tonight? We could have a lot of fun" She says in a seductive way but he shakes his head
"As much as I would love to, I already promised Liv that I was gonna hang out with her later" He says and she looks at me with disgust
"But I thought you were into girls" She says and that is my cue to get up
"Okay chica, listen and listen good. I am a girl, not a dude and I know your little air head brain can't wrap your head around that so you might wanna start thinking with your head and not with your boobs" I say and she looks at her nails pretending to be uninterested
"Ugh whatever" she says while walking away and I go to walk after her but Shawn pulls me back until I calm down
"Easy tiger" he says while turning me around and I give a small smile
"Don't let her get to you" he says and I nod
"I know, I just hate her" I say and he nods and gives me a hug and kisses me on the head
"I know" he says and I hug him tighter. The bell rings and we let go because I dash to my locker and grab my books
"Crap, we are gonna be late" I say and he shrugs
"Let's just go get a late pass and then we can head to English" He says and we both head to the office to get late passes

"Okay class I want you to write a poem. It doesn't have to rhyme but it has to be about someone. It can be about your parents, friends, family or even yourself. You have fifteen minutes, good luck!" Mrs Liane says and we all start writing. What to write about? Hmm , oh I got it!
15 minutes later..."Alright, I gave you fifteen minutes who wants to go first?" Mrs Liane asks and I raise my hand and get up out of my seat
" She cries at night to get all of her inner demons out
Societies expectations are overwhelming
When will people see?
That life is about Expectations Vs Reality" I read my poem and everyone claps."That was beautiful Olivia! Who wants to go next?" Mrs Liane asks and Shawn gets up
"She hides behind her walls screaming to get out
But she really doesn't see is that they are meant to be
She cries, he cries
The boy in the jacket and the princess will never say die" he says and I clap and whistle"That was amazing Shawn, who was it about?" She says in a nosy way and he shakes his head
"Ah a good writer never reveals his secret" he says and she smiles and calls the next person up and that is when I space out

I am getting ready for my fathers party. Ready to rebel! I put on a heart design peasant blouse, a short burgundy skirt with a black belt and black ankle boot heels
