Two years to the day Revolution foaled Nova the Australian bred and raced mare has foaled her third foal overall and first filly. " are you sure this is Rev's foal?" I ask Anna. The filly is large yet graceful much like her eldest brother was and is a dark bay not as dark as Nova but more like a chocolate bar. She has a bold face and four high stockings but what caused my comment on the white hairs on her flank and the white spots. " your a real comedian Rev's dam sire Pearl Harbor had both Rabicano and birdcacther markings and so did Rev's dam so she's probably a carrier" Anna tells me. " she needs a name" I comment. " your the naming ace so any idea?" Anna asks me. " I prefer to observe and get to know the personality first but I already got one for her" I tell my cousin. " what ?" Anna asks me. " Rico" I tell her. " Nova means extraordinary and revolution in Latin so what does Rico mean?" Anna asks me. " as a word it means rich in Spanish but it's also a name that means Glory in German or Strong Ruler in Spanish" I tell her. " sounds like a boys name" Anna tells me. " it is but she could pass for a colt" I tell my cousin. " quick question who was Rev sired by?" I ask curiously. " Galileo or Frankel I can't remember which" Anna tells me. " both are outstanding sires and damsire's" I comment. " hey both Saber and Empress both foaled last night want to go see them?" Anna asks me. " sure I haven't seen Mage's and Mists colts either" I tell her. " this way" Anna tells me. " hey Saber" I tell the bay mare with tobiano markings as I rub her head. A soft snort can be heard from behind the young mare. I step to one side so I can get a better veiw and a large wobbly black colt with tobiano markings like his dam is standing at her hindquarters. " hey boy" I tell the colt and slowly he walks forward. the clouds shift and a ray of light shines through a window lighting up the head of the colt I notice like a jagged stripe resembling a sword. " Excalibur" I mumble.
Okay for the record and I don't forget later on Rico is a full sister to Nova and there will be a book about her. Also I'm planning for Nova and Rico to have two to four more full siblings.
