Descend

Chapter 5

I woke form the sound of a branch snapping, my eyes shot open. Shaking of the dream I was on high alert. I instantly stood up brushing of the leafs and looking around for the source of the sound. It was very dark and I cursed under my breath at my stupidity for falling a sleep. I had no weapons and I was alone, I was just prying it was a bunny or something; unfortunately my luck was running short this week because a chuckled echoed in the woods and I couldn't pin point where the sound was coming from.

I held in my breath and moved closer to the trees, I don't know why I thought the tree would aid me but it eased some of my fear.

Out of the shadows a figure formed, with black mist and pale skin it was the only thing that stood out. He wore all black and a mist swirled around him, moving with his body. A beautiful smile fell on his pale smooth face and a long wavy hair fell to his shoulders in all it glory.

The one thing that made me feel sickened was his soulless black eyes, that made me gasp in shock and he was staring right at me. A glamour of lust shot through me and I clenched my hands letting my nails dig in to my skin; just to stop from me to walking over there and let him take me there and then.

"Hello Aria"

His voice was like a medley asking me to follow the notes and intwine 'no! it's a glamour '

I took a deep breath and tried to fight back his glamour, he just chuckled at my attempt. He moved closer to me and I pushed my self even further into the tree; he grabbed my hand and kiss it sending another lash of glamour through my body I moved a step closer to him.

"My name is Orcus"

A calculated smile stretch on his face and he pulled me away from the tree and started to circle me. I took another deep breath trying to push of the glamour.

"Coo..uld you, you lay of the glamour?"

It took everything I had to get those words out and I was very aware that my hands where bleeding from where my nails had penetrated my skin. Orcus was standing in front of me again still holding that beautiful smile.

"Of course my dear"

And like that, the pressure lifted of my body and fell into Orcus arms and he held me up, I quickly got out of his grip; afraid he would try another trick. I could finally breath and my head felt much clearer. I turned and glared at Orcus, who stood there with that perfect smile that seemed to never leave his lips.

"What the hell do you want!"

I was pissed! My anger was taking over my logic side and I didn't care if he could probably kill me right here and right now but I did't like the fact that just with one glamour and I was almost ready for him like food on a plate, that piss me of the most.

"I'm here to help you get home my dear"

A hope griped my soul and the anger was washed away all forgotten about. who knew it was this easy I could go home, forgot this nightmare and never look back. I moved forward I was closer to him than I probably would of liked but I didn't care he held the answers to the way home.

"What!"

I was shocked that some stranger would help me but here it was and I would do anything to go home to be normal again. He tutted and waggled his fingers and I felt like a dog waiting for him take me for a walk.

"I will return you home, even wipe your memory if you wish; on one condition."

A catch there was always a catch and I was probably making a deal with the devil himself but I didn't care I wanted to get home and I wanted to get home fast.

"And what will that be"

A silence stretched out, and I felt like a child reaching fur sweets to come up empty handed. The he uttered words that penetrated my soul.

"You have to kill the Prince, You have to kill the darkness that plagues this world then you can go home"

My mouth fell open I knew he wasn't kidding, the price of going home was to kill the prince, Ice grabbed hold of my heart and dread wash through my being. Could I do it? That was a question I couldn't answer yet. How would I do it? He chuckled again; he moved forward and took my face in is hands I was staring into his soulless eyes and I knew he could devour me if he wanted to.

"My beautiful Aria, can you finally kill him? Or will you fail like all those years ago?"

Memories threaten to explode in my head but I clamped them down, that was the past I didn't need to remember. I turned away taking a deep breath.

"How?"

mist swirled around me and he was in front of me, a Cheshire cat grin was on his face and a heaviness fell on my heart.

"On the up coming solstice the prince must show an act of love, that will be his undoing, that will kill the darkness."

I gasped and my eyes widened that was how he wanted to kill him by an act of love?

"That impossible, he can't love never mind an act of love."

I almost shouted but I held my anger only a fool would fall for his trick, I was ready to walk away but what he said next stopped me.

"His soul isn't fully tainted"

my mouth fell open, hope swirled through my being and I moved forward again.

"Not enough to make him light, but enough for him to feel one act of love."

The hope was put of like a candle lighting up the darkest room, I nodded and he held out his hand, ready for me to accept his terms. Could I do it, all I had was a month to make the darkest soul do a true act of love? I was sure as hell going to try even if it meant my heart breaking all over again, I can't live in this world and this was my way home, my way out.

"Make sure you wipe my memory"

I grabbed his hand and swirl of dark mist scorched my skin and a glamour of lust shot through me, it was too strong for me to resist and he grabbed the back of my neck and planted a kiss on my lips taking some a my essences to seal the deal and like that mist fell away and my his lips left mine and my arm burnt, I looked to my hand to see two number written on 24.

"I shall see you in 24 days Aria my darling"

and like that his disappeared into the darkness like he never was even there. Tiredness swept through my body and I couldn't even keep my eyes open I fell to my knees and a whisper in the wind said sleep and I felt my eyes become heavy and soon there was blackness.
