As Phil continued to walk home, he couldn't help but keep a smile plastered on his face. The words kept flooding back into his mind. Bye then, handsome.
He knew Dans words at this point were meaningless. Tomorrow, Dan would not remember having those words come out of his mouth. He'd deny it. Even if he did remember, Phil knew it would be pushed to the back of his mind before the day was over, although Phil would probably still be thinking about it.
Handsome. Dan's raspy voice replayed itself over and over again. Even if it was meaningless to Dan, it didn't feel meaningless to Phil.
Phil looked up from the ground as he was nearing his apartment. Yes, he was only in high school, but he owned a small flat near the campus. Phil left the north to be closer to Dan, they had even lived together at one point, but once their friendship fell out, Dan bought an even smaller apartment for himself.
Phil opened the front door and sighed. It seemed like he had hundreds of stairs to walk up, although it was, at the most, 13. He slowly walked up the flight. Once he had made it to the top, he was out of breath and practically wheezing. He was defiantly not fit. He unlocked his door and immediately swung his backpack off his shoulder and onto the floor beside the couch. He eyed his small camera on the table, and it gave him an idea.
                                   *~*
Sitting down on his floor, cheap tripod set up, Phil fixed his hair. He quickly looked in the mirror before pressing 'record' on the camera.
Beep.
A red button on the top of the camera blinked twice, signaling it was recording. Phil took a deep breath and nodded.
"Hi Dan!" he started. "I just got home from school, and I'm bored. You left me a lone, you were my only friend, so now all I do is make random videos that won't ever get posted to YouTube." Phil laughed nervously.
"I just wanted to make this video because we talked again earlier."
Phil could feel his cheeks burning a shade of red. "I remember when we were little and we would sit on the fountain outside of the high school, which we now attend, and dream of being that old." He laughed again. "We're seniors now.." Phil ran his hand through his hair. "Well, since you'll never see this..." He began to tear up a little. He wiped his eyes quickly, hoping it went unnoticed. "I miss you. I wish everyday we could have what we had before, Dan... I love you. I always have." Phil couldn't help it anymore. He let several tears roll down his cheeks.
Phil sniffled, and blocked out the sadness with a smile. "You called me handsome today." He said, chuckling a bit after. "I know it was just the alcohol speaking.. But you said it." He spoke the words again quietly, and looked down. Bye then, handsome.
Phil reached for the camera and removed it from the tripod. He looked straight into the lens. "I love you, Dan Howell."
