Lily was smiling, amazed with the scene around her. Everyone from town was here. The mailman, the sheriff, the baker, Lily's second grade teacher, everyone. People were dancing, crying, laughing and doing whatever it is people do when they're happy. Lily thought back to only six months ago when her future brother-in-law had bent down on one knee and proposed to her older sister, Logan, right in front of the whole family. She knew the proposal would happen, but it still amazed her how everlasting their love is. A true match made in heaven, they were.

Mates.

Since Logan had found her mate, Lily was also curious and excited as to how and where she would find hers.

The sun was starting to set as a cool breeze drafted in on the celebration. The sunlight peaked through the creases and curves of the hill, illuminating a soft glow on the scene.
It was almost time for the candle light ceremony. It was done at the lake near her family's barn.

Friends and family gathered around and watched the two lovebirds light their candle. After closing their eyes and wishing for the best, they placed the candle onto the lake, watching it drift away in peace. Others followed along, excited to see how far their lights will last as it drifts through the creaks into the woods.

Closing her eyes, it was Lily's turn to place her candle onto the lake. Her wish was a simple and quiet one, one that she may regret some day as she watches her candle drifting along with the others, lighting up the evening sky. A cool breeze blew, pushing some of the candles further out into the lake, and Lily frowned, as she watch her candle light go out.

"Quack, quack, quack, quack, quack!"
Sang the alarm going off from Lily's phone. Sitting up, she stretched and opened the curtains, welcoming the sunlight into her room. After pampering and getting ready to start the day, Lily walked from her log cabin to the main house to get some breakfast. It was weird to see the house so open and quiet. After the wedding yesterday, everyone who visited, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and of course, the love birds have gone off to continue their own lives. Now it was just Lily and her parents living on the farm.

"Good morning sweetie, how'd you sleep?" Lily's mom greeted her.

Lily smiled, always feeling warm every time she saw her mom in the kitchen cooking with her apron on. Despite her age, she was still beautiful, graceful and the best mother Lily could ever ask for. She could also say a lot about her father. Her parents were a match made in heaven also, and the main inspiration for Lily to find her mate as well.

"To be quite honest, despite the fact that I had to drag Uncle Carl all the way from the horse barn to his room, I had a pretty good sleep."

Her mom laughed, bringing tears to her eyes. "I warned him not to be so heavy on the drinking."

"What, are you talking about your brother again?" Lily's dad walked in, wrapping his arms around his wife and gave her a peck on the lips. "Good morning, Lily." He smiled her way.

Her dad is a respectful, sophisticated man who always taught her about well morals and never abusing power. He himself is the beta of the Delta pack. The Delta pack was always under the radar, and not much attention was ever brought to the group and its members. They played by the rules, and if a time came where justice had to be served, they had plenty of warriors to deal with the problem.

He sighed. "One daughter gone, another one left."

"Don't rush, I don't want this house to be empty of my children." His wife complained.

"Mom, don't worry, I won't be leaving anytime soon." Despite how much Lily wanted to meet her mate, she knew and understood how much the world was changing around them. Werewolves were rejecting their mates, disagreeing with the bond that burdens them their whole life; some wanted to live normal human lives, so they left their pack and headed for the city. Her mate could even be killed or dead and she may never even know. To come across one's mate is rare at a time like this, and the fact that her parents and sister did was complete fate and luck, and have left her questioning about her own fate. Lily is already nineteen years old, and even though the age may speak out young, many find their mates at around thirteen to sixteen years of age like her parents and sister did.
