Blade internally laughed at the Gods' play. Him? Have a mate? No, he will never get trapped in a world where people stupidly get attached to one another, foolishly making decisions based on the annoying bond that they share. He refused to be a puppet in their little game. Did they know who he is, what he's capable of?
"I reject you." Blade whispered, taking in her eyes, as he watches the sudden part of her lips due to shock.
Those lips though...
He might as well have some fun with his new found interest. This moment was definitely better than hunting. Humans tend to get a little repetitive with their reactions at times.
Blade licked his lips before swooping down his neck and engaging his lips over hers. A fiery warmth spread throughout his face, causing him to want more. His tongue swept over her bottom lip, urging to get in.
Lily stood there feeling shocked, afraid, warm, and hurt.
Her only mate had rejected her.
Lily turned her head, breaking the connection between the two. This earned a heated glare from Blade, clearly disliking how she interrupted the moment.
"How dare you." She spoke each word clearly and with anger. It was only possible because she wasn't looking directly at his face. Lily wiped her lips in disgust with her sleeve as she attempts to move away from him.
A cold-hearted chuckle was all it takes for her to freeze in place. "And where do you think you're going?" Blade seemed to order rather than ask.
"Away from you."
This was all embarrassing and an insult to who she is. Rejecting her, while pinning her up against a tree and kissing her to satisfy and make this man content was not what she stood up for.
"With who's permission?" Blade's eyes twinkled out of curiosity and amusement of the female before him.
"Certainly not from you." Lily was in the midst of still processing how she had just found her mate, and how her mate had rejected her only moments before.
She hit his arms away, defiantly making her way out of the woods. She'd be fine without a mate, she repeated to herself. She was fine living for nineteen years without one, so it wouldn't hurt if she had to live more years alone. Except Lily couldn't help that a single tear slid down her cheek. This was the moment she's been waiting for her entire life, and to have it ripped up in pieces in the matter of seconds by him, was disappointing for her.
A hard grip landed on her upper arm, spinning her around before she could step a foot outside the woods. He held her by the waist as he flew with speed through the trees. His speed was enough for Lily's breath to be caught in her chest as she struggles to scream and move. Seconds later, they were at a unfamiliar clearing, something visible starting to appear between two large oak trees. It seemed as if air and wind were visible to the eyes as it swirled faster and faster. Blade walked towards it, his grip still around her. "What the hell?!" Lily fought with everything that she had in order to get away from him. They stalked closer and closer until it felt as if their body sped through a deep hole, wind causing her hair to fly everywhere. Lily was too shocked and afraid to open her eyes until the uncomfortable, odd feeling left her, illuminating once again, silence. She hesitantly opened her eyes at the new surrounding and mentally gasped. What stood before her now was a black palace, so dark that it seemed to make the day sky look as if it were night. The view itself was terrorizing, mysterious, and stunning.
Two men stood guard as they casted suspicious glances her way. She gulped, looking at the forest behind her to see that the weird portal thing had already disappeared.
"Where the hell did you take me?" Panic and fear was starting to dawn upon Lily. Will she ever see her parents again? Would she die alone here, in this strange, unknown place?
"Somewhere no one will ever find you." Blade plainly stated, dragging her along as if she was a weightless doll.
Lily struggled so much to get out of his grip until she realized that it would be impossible to do so, that she slumped in his hold and followed the man for now. She bit her lip from crying as her survival instincts start to kick in. She had to think of a plan on how to leave this place and him--now.
They were walking in the empty palace as Lily observed her surroundings. It was mostly empty with only a few furniture that were either black or white. Of course, judging from his character, it made sense of the color scheme. They walked upstairs, heading to whatever destination Blade had in mind.
"Where are you taking me?"
Blade turned around, only looking over her body once before smirking and continuing through the halls.
Lily tried to ignore the excitement and butterflies she received in her stomach from his heated gaze.
He opened the door to a huge bedroom and pushed her inside. With a flick of his wrist, he locked the door behind them and stared at her.
"W-what are you doing..." Slowly, Lily inched back from him until her legs came into contact with what felt like the bed. "Please, don't do anything to me." Tears rimmed her eyes, she was on the edge of breaking down.
He approached her, holding his hand up to her cheek and wiped the tears out of her eyes with one stroke of the thumb. "I am Blade. What is your name ?" He said, eyeing the female's lips.
"Lily." She moved away from his touch, causing an irritable feeling from Blade.
"Why did you bring me here? You rejected me, so why are you holding me here?"
Blade smirked. She must be the daughter of a high ranking were. No other man or woman would ever talk so gracefully and authoritative to him like that.
"Yes, I rejected you." He laughed. "I would never fall in love with someone like you."
Those words really stabbed Lily in the heart.
"Instead, you'd be my mistress, and become submissive to me." Blade smirked.
Before Lily could stop herself, her hand flew to his face, making a painful connection to the side of Blade's cheek. "Who do you think you are?! You can't force someone you rejected to stay in this hell and do whatever you want. I won't!"
Blade grabbed her throat, squeezing it as he growls. "Do not be disrespectful to me again-"
"Or what" Lily struggled to say as she choked on his grip. She'd rather put up a fight and die than stay here and be his mistress.
With one push from his hand, Lily landed on top of the white sheets. Her eyes widened as his body climbed on top of hers. "I'd teach you a lesson of who's the dominant one here." He growled into her ear.
In a flash, his lips were hungrily on hers. It took Lily everything to not melt into his embrace and kiss back. This was not how she wanted it to be. This is not the way she was raised. Lily was going to fight, even if it meant going against her mate, for she will never succumb to his needs and become a lowly mistress.
Her top came off and now she was only left in her jeans and bra. "Please, stop!" She was on the edge of the cliff now, just about to fall. Crying, she turned her head and refused to look in his eyes. Blade pushed off of her angrily and took in her appearance once. He turned his head, hating the discomfort he felt from seeing Lily look so fragile and devastated.
"You will be submissive, because if you don't-I'd kill everyone you love." Blade heard her gasp in shock and terror as he made his way back towards the door. Buttoning his shirt, he turned his head, "You should understand what is expected of next time, Lily." With that, he slammed the door shut, leaving her in despair.
Deep down, Lily knew that Blade was capable of doing exactly what he had threatened. She could sense that he was more than just a powerful were, but was hiding something much more dark. Already, this was a fight that Lily had lost since the beginning. Family, the people that she loves and care about took all the space of her heart and was the worst weakness she could ever have.
Lily thought back to last night, regretting her candle wish--I wish I'd meet my mate soon.
