Dean POV:

My mind was racing. A son of Zeus? Here?! Why wasn't he under protection? Why didn't he, I dunno, spit in my eyes, shoot me with lightening? I couldn't think straight. Hopefully this next class can get my mind off of all of the Greek bull shit.

"Okay class, today we are going to be learning about the Greek gods and goddesses."  I roll my eyes. Are you kidding me? "But, first class, let me introduce you to our new student, Dean Winchester." I wave kindly, a warm smile on my face. I then make my way over to the only open seat, next to this Asian kid, and a really skinny kid with a big nose and ears. They looked a little weird, which is probably what makes me want to sit by them.

"Yo," I greet. They both nod, and the Asian kid digs his nose deeper into his copy of Beetle and Bard. The skinny kid nods back enthusiastically, reaching a hand out in friendship.

"Hiya! My name's Garth. The book worm is Kevin." I shake his hand warmly. This kid has an energy over him that makes him give off happiness. Suddenly, I see it. The scar on the right side of his collar bone; a sun. Apollo's son, no doubt. I smirk. Finally someone I can socialize with. "So, Demeter?"

I gulp. "What?"

Garth looks at the packets our teacher, Mrs. Mills, handed to us while I was lost in thought. "... Demeter? The assignment?"

I look between him and Kevin, who both stare at me like I have a third nipple. "Righhhtttt...." I drag out. I pick up the paper and scan the directions. Before you begin the project, I would like you to write out as much as you know about the Greek goddess, Demeter, the goddess of harvest.

I roll my eyes again. There's no way I can do this project. I know way too much about Demeter. Kevin pulls out a piece of paper. "Let's get to this, bitches," He states tiredly. Poor kid looks worn like no tomorrow. He picks up a pencil, and begins to write what he knows, asking for input every now and then. As he began writing, I see his scar as well on his forearm; a feather. Athena, goddess of wisdom. And battle strategy, but her children are usually adopting more of her brains than her brawn.

"Dean?" I snap out of my thoughts and look at Kevin, humming in response. "Do you know anything about Demeter?"

I scratch the back of my neck. Well, sonofabitch. I cough lightly. "Uhh, I know that Persephone was her daughter. And that Hades kidnapped her to be his bride." Kevin nods, jotting the thoughts down. I think I will learn to like them.

*****

Lunch time rolls around, and I find myself sitting with the few familiar faces I can see; Charlie, Alfie, Kevin, Garth, a couple of weirdos I met in gym named Ed and Harry, and Castiel. I still don't feel very comfortable being around Cas, just in case he either finally realizes who I am or one of his other siblings do. I mean, as far as I know, no one else here is a demigod that I haven't already learned about, and no one suspects me of being such. A lot of these guys may not even know who they are, what they are. But, with Cas, it's different. He looks at me with this... intensity. Like I hold the answer to something. I just can't tell what.

"Hey, Dean-o!" Garth greets, one single wave. Along with the few people I do know, there were a few unfamiliar faces. I wave back, with a simple, 'Hey guys'. The three other people I didn't recognize were quite strange. There was one girl with long-ass lighter brown hair, and a kid next to her with a hand print painted over his right eye, completely black. He gives me one solemn nods, and I nod back. The girl gives a small smile, and the third person was a guy with fabulous purpley black hair, and blue eyes. "Dean, this is Sammie, Kamren, and Trent." He says, gesturing to each of them. I wave, and they wave back.

"Hey guys." I say to the table, my eyes briefly meeting Castiel's. "Cas," I say, a smile on my lips.

"Dean," He says returning the smile. I sit down and stare at my tray. I have a hamburger, and fries. I look across the table to Castiel.

"Does this place have any pie?" I ask. A smile twitches onto his lips.

"Uh, Yeah." He points over his shoulder at a little kiosk hidden away in the corner of the cafeteria. "Over there at the ala carte." I smile as a thank you, and he turns a light shade of pink, staring intently at his food. I smirk, and go at my burger.

"So," Charlie begins, "Since we're kinda forcing you to have a birthday party, we thought it would only be proper that you got to pick out a theme for it." I was so into my burger I hardly even noticed that Charlie was talking. I glance over at the kiosk and my mouth begins to water at the thought of pie. Glancing at Charlie, I see she is looking at Cas, probably talking to him.

"I didn't even want a party, How the hell am I supposed to know what kind of theme I want?" Cas states quietly.

"Why don't you use your favorite book or t.v. show for an idea?" Sammie says. She and Kamren exchange glances, and he nods. "It's easy to base a theme off of your favorite topics." One solemn nod.

Castiel shrugs. "Yeah, okay. Why not?" Charlie grins.

"Greek Mythology it is then!" I nearly choke on my burger. Are you fucking kidding me??!

"What's your favorite book, Cas?" I ask. Castiel pushes his tray away, and a tiny sparkle reflects into his eyes, although he still looks a bit shy.

"A-actually, it's a series. The Percy Jackson and the Olympians series?" He smiles a bit, and something in my stomach flutters. Why do I feel like this? Cuz you're gay. Shut the fuck up. "I think Hades is one mega  bad ass, and it would be sick to be a demigod!" He looks a bit fan girly, and straightens up with excitement as he talks about it. It's kinda cute. NO. NO IT'S NOT. BOOBS. GIRLS. STRAIGHT!

Suddenly Charlie squeaks violently, catching us all off guard, and I jump up, thinking someone is dying. "That's it! That's BRILLIANT!" Everyone looks at her, and Trent holds his heart like he's having a heart attack.

"Would you care to elaborate?" Cas asks. Charlie rolls her eyes.

"Doi! Isn't it obvious?!" Cas lifts his eyebrows. Clearly it isn't. "We should make it Greek mythology, of course, but then... everyone dresses as their own type of demigod!!!" We all exchange a confused looks. "Wouldn't that be sweet? Everyone can be the kid of their favorite god or goddess!"

My face goes pale and I feel sick. None of this sounds like it's going to go well. But I look at Cas, I see his excited, cute little smile, and I can't help but smile, too. It's his birthday, after all! What could go wrong?

*****

I walk into my Calculus class with Trent and Kamren. Trent was going on and on about his costume he was going to wear to Cas' party, and Kamren just kept nodding in agreement. Does this guy ever talk? I pull out my notebook to start taking notes, but decide I want to draw instead. I decide to draw the only thing I could think of, and until I put the pencil on the paper, I don't even know what I'm going to draw.

Once my drawing is complete, I look at it, and try hard not to smile. I drew Cas. Him, with his ocean blue eyes, and his soft smile... Oh, yeah, you're tooooootally straight. "What do you think, Dean?" Trent asks, interrupting my thoughts. I look up at him, humming in response. Trent rolls his eyes. "About my costume idea!" I shrug apologetically. He smacks my arm, and I flinch away. "Okay, pay the fuck attention this time!" He glances at Kamren. "I was saying how I have the perfect idea! Imagine this;" he holds his hands up to demonstrate, "Afrodite's son. Get it? Like, disco period, 80's Aphrodite? I'll have an afro, tie dye, gogo boots. The works!" I laugh lightly. Trent's eyebrow knit together. "What you laughing at, white boy?" He asks defensively. I hold my hands up and shake my head.

"Nothing," I reply.

He fake flips his hair over his shoulder. "Fuck you, I'm fabulous." Again, I laugh.
