Bryan
And I was WRONG, absolutely, wrong! Nothing was different, everything was the same, same old teachers, same old boring lessons. I guess my life was nothing better than a flatline, it would not even allow me to have the time of my life.
More history work for me now. Sigh......
Scarlett
The incident of the bus was not something new. It happened, occasionally. If you were not brave or bold enough, you would just get shoved into the lockers like one of those nerdy nerds in television. I liked being a bad girl sometimes, it keeps people from pushing you to your limits. But sometimes it doesn't work, because being a bad girl or not, the weak ones are always weak.
Not to mention I know that standing up to those cheerleaders will always come with a price for me to pay, maybe I'll be found hanging at a classroom, or found dead in the drain, or shoved in the janitor's room, I don't know, but I liked being bad, it made me felt as if I had a stand, a dignity at that point of life, even though I know I'll go back being my normal self and regretting doing that, it satisfies me, at that point.
Bryan was looking at me the whole time, along with the friends he always hangs out with, his squad I guess, and his friends came and congratulated me as if I won an Oscar's, even though the wishes kind of sounded like: 'Congratulations, you just pissed the school's drama queen's off, prepare a grave and live there if you don't want to be forced there', it made me feel pretty special.
During free period, that incredibly stunning brown/blonde haired girl and that sweet asian girl bumped into me when I was at my locker, turns out our lockers were located at the same hallway.
'Whoa.' That asian girl choked. 'Same hallway eh?' She said as she opened her locker.
'Yeah.' I said with the nicest girl-next-door tone possible.
'Hey.' The American girl came in. (I will call her the American Girl not just because she really looks like a polished and far more sexier version of an American Girl, but also for the fact that labeling her as the 'Brown blonde haired girl' sounds far too inappropriate, not to mention just those words alone are far too much work.) 'Wanna hang out later? We could go grab lunch or something.' Her tone was so...... how do I put it together? DEEP. Its so soothing and low, moreover that asian girl's voice sounds more sweet and light.
'Wouldn't I be interrupting you guys?' What I said was half of what I actually meant to say, I was supposed to say 'Wouldn't my existence create a harmful impact that is too much for anyone to bare since I just dissed the popular in school?' besides, these two girls don't really seem like the girls I would be close to, nobody would want to be close to me if they saw who I really was.
'Of course not.' The asian girl assured me. 'Besides, Bryan and the other guys are having classes. We could go grab an early lunch perhaps? Since me and Piper are having classes later until 3 pm.'
Oh, so that American Girl is called Piper, that is a fairly awkward name you would call someone this beautiful, or anyone at all.
'Correction Jin, they are the only one's with classes. Some quality time with Ms.Stressman.' Piper told Jin, I think that's her name? She then turned to me 'But yeah, wanna have lunch with us?'
'Okay!' I immediately answered. 'I would love to have lunch with you guys!'
'Haha, but you barely even know us.' Piper laughed. I know she isn't trying to be sarcastic, but her tone left me wondering if she was really okay with my existence.
'Don't worry.' The asian girl put her arms around my shoulder, clearly noticing my suspicious face. 'Piper is always this sarcastic.' 'But lucky you, I am always the nice one' she threw me a wink. What she said totally made sense, even though she was joking. Piper really is the type of girl I would think of a total jerk, however Jin Wei is blooming with laughter just by looking at her face.
'Jin Wei you're such a nuisance.' Piper walked ahead of us as we tagged along.
We headed to the cafeteria, and quickly settled down at a spot, then me and Jin Wei went to grab our lunches while Piper sat there, marking our territory. The cafeteria was rather small, or maybe the amount of people were just overwhelming, because it was packed, I had to fight for my food. Well not actually get into a fight, just the battle of the hands. Jin Wei told me we had to mark a territory or it would get invaded quickly by all sorts of intruders, and after witnessing the crowd at the cafeteria, I could quickly understand why that marking your territory was completely necessary.
'We usually grab our lunches from that counter.' Jin Wei said as she pointed to the counter packed with people. 'Their serving portions are big. And the price is fairly cheap. I'll go grab us some passion fruit sparkling juice, it's the drink of the day.'
With my eyes and mouth wide open, I was wondering how I was going to squeeze in there, maybe if I was smaller sized I could. Jin Wei had noticed me, then she turned to me and smiled: 'It's okay. I'll grab the lunches, you help us grab the drinks okay? You'll get used to it, sooner or later.' She patted my shoulder and she disappeared in the midst of the crowd.
I turned to the counter, the crowd was not as big as the other side of the cafeteria, but it was still quite rowdy. I walked up and saw there was only two passion fruit juices left. I was not left with a lot of time to think since it was my turn real soon, so I grabbed both the passion fruit juices and grabbed another orange juice, only when I realized I don't have three hands. I was about to signal Piper for help when I noticed a tall shadow shadowed over me (I said nonsense but oh well). She snatched the passion fruit juices from me, I didn't even had the time to catch a glimpse of her face, but when I did, I was stunt. She had such sharp and defined features, those cheekbones, that jawline, just, wow. Not to mention her wavy hair contours her face so well, she was wearing a crop top paired with some leggings that showed off her body shape so well.
'No wonder' I thought. Boys call these girls sexy and bold, girls call these girls bitches.
'Its mine.' She said to me in a high pitched, sweet voice, as if she were a child. Not like Jin Wei's, Jin Wei's voice had a hint of innocence, her voice has echoes that can hit you hard. But obviously she was a bitch, I could see it.
'I took it first.' Now we really sound like little kids fighting over candy.
'No, its obviously mine, everything is.'
Wow, she really sounds like some spoilt rich kid, honestly. I still had the drinks in my hands as I refused to be treated in such manner, and hey, I paid for it too.
She attempted snatched my drink, but seeing her, I think she had trouble to even carry her school bag, let alone have the strength to snatch the drink. It spilled out a little bit, but I was still holding onto it as tight as I could.
With my hand holding the drink and her hand on the other end, (I hope that made sense), I think I'm going to get involved in another fight, but this girl doesn't seem as terrifying as Tiffany or Annabelle, she looks like she is trying to be bitchy, trying a little too hard perhaps. Maybe Tiffany and Annabelle took her as their slave, like in the movies.
'Hand me the juices.' She said in a spoiled brat accent. 'Now.' She let go of the drink and grabbed me by the collar.
I stared at her cold eyes, waiting for it to turn me into an icicle, until someone broke the ice burg.
'Cut it.'
I turned back to only find out it was Piper, and Jin Wei was standing beside her, filled with anxiousness, yet Piper just looked like how she usually looked like, as strong as ever.
'Shut up Piper.' The girl grabbed me even harder, but her attention was turned towards Piper.
Jin Wei wanted to voice out, yet Piper put her hand up to stop her.
'Are you that lack of attention that you had to turn to the new girl to get some?' 'Hands off Scarlett.'
I was secretly so happy that Piper remembered my name, it felt something to be proud of.
'Yeah, hands off.' Jin Wei added, yet her tone was not as confident as Piper's.
'Fine.' She finally had let go off me, and I could finally breathe.
'I know you want it, so.'
And immediately, a rush of coldness overwhelmed me. It took me five seconds to realize what I thought had happened. I was drenched in passion fruit juice.
'Whoopsie.' She led out a sarcastic laugh. 'Keep the bottle.' She opened up my passion juice 'infused' hands and placed the bottle in my hands before she patted my head and walked away.
It was at that brief moment when she walked away I realized that I had came to be the center of attention. But fortunately there were only a few people who witnessed what had happened.
Students who walked passed by were bound to look at the passion-fruit-juiced-new-girl-who-dissed-the-cheerleaders. I could hear their chatters and disgusted comments, they gave me the kind of eye contact that could literally make you feel like you're disintegrating into a million pieces, and all you would wish at that point of time was just for the ground to swallow you up. I could only look down on my feet because I could not even bring myself to see the students, I don't even think I can pull of the whole 'cool face' that I would usually do, because getting drenched in passion fruit juice does not look cool, at all.
'That jerk!' Jin Wei shrieked. She was about to charge down the hallway like she was going to really beat that girl, whoever she was, so badly to the extend that she would go to the Intensive Care Unit.
'Stop being stupid Jin.' Piper immediately grabbed Jin Wei by the shoulder. Jin Wei took a few deep breathes before to put out the fire that was burning inside of her. Even though I had only just know Jin Wei, I had never seen her this angry before.
'You know that's her character.' Piper continued, sounding as calm and cool as she usually would. 'We can't settle her on our own.'
'You know we could always beat her up. Because firstly, I hate her. Secondly, I hate her. Thirdly, I HATE HER.' Jin Wei just looked even more furious.
'Its ok.' 'We all do.' Piper sighed. 'Do you want to report this case to teacher?' Piper asked.
'I'm not sure, that can be taken into consideration, though.'
Jin Wei then turned to me with a full face of worry. 'Scarlett you okay? Oh who am I kidding, you're drenched. Let's get you to the shower room.'
'Do you have anything to change into Scarlett?' Piper continued. 'I have an extra set of clothing.'
'I'm afraid I have to borrow your clothing Piper..... I don't have anything to change into.' I stammered.
'Its okay, go get yourself cleaned. I will get my clothes for you.' Piper smiled. 'Jin accompany her okay?'
'I will. Don't beat Alexis up.' Jin Wei told Piper. 'Taken into consideration.' Piper threw a wink before she disappeared in the hallways.
'Let's go Scarlett.' Jin Wei said as she led the way.
