Chapter 9: Run away Angel

"NO!" Abby screamed sitting up. "Abby it's OK. It was just a dream." Miranda said entering the room with a cup of water. "A dream? More like a nightmare!" Abby said. "Here, have some water. It should help." Miranda replied handing her the cup of water.

"Where are the others?" Abby asked taking a sip of water. "Kitty's still sleeping on the couch and the others are out stretching in the backyard. They just went out there. Wanna join them?" Miranda asked. "Sure, let me..." Abby was stopped when the two girl's heard a scream from the backyard. "The girls!" Miranda yelled. Abby and Miranda ran for the backyard and when they got out there they found something unexpected.

"What's wrong? Why did we hear a scream?" Abby asked. "It was Gabby." Megan replied. "It's not my fault. Sasha scared me." Gabby said. "Sasha?" Miranda asked. "Oh, meet Sasha the husky." Gabby said happily petting a beautiful grey and white husky.

"She's beautiful!" Miranda replied. "Yeah, she seems to like me a lot." Gabby said hugging Sasha. The girls laughed. "Come on Sasha, I bet your hungry." Gabby said going into the house. Sasha followed, so did the others. A half hour later the dog was full.

"There all foodid up." Gabby said. "I don't think foodid is a word." Abby replied. "Well it is now." Gabby said petting Sasha. Abby smiled. "I'm glad we found Sasha. Maybe she will take Maggi off Gabby's mind." Megan whispered to Danielle. "Yeah. She's a whole lot happier than yesterday." Danielle replied.

In the main room Kitty is beginning to wake up from a nightmare. "Mommy?" Kitty's voice cried out. The girls all ran over to her. "Mommy?" Kitty cried out again, but this time she was fully awake. "Kitty, were here." Abby said. "I had a nightmare where mommy was one of those monsters and she tried to hurt us. I was so scared." Kitty said hugging Abby. "It's OK now. That was just a dream. She's OK." Abby replied hugging her back. "I know she is, and were gonna find her. Right?" Kitty asked. "Of course we will." Abby replied shamefully.

"Hey Kitty, you like dogs?" Gabby asked trying to brighten her mood. "I love them. Why?" Kitty asked letting go of Abby. "Meet Sasha, are new survivor friend." Gabby replied. Sasha leaped onto the couch and began licking Kitty's face. Kitty laughed happily. "She's so cute and big." Kitty said petting Sasha. The girls all smiled.

A few hours later the girl's are all packing and restocking there food supply Getting ready to sail out. "Are we all ready to go?" Miranda asked. "I am." Gabby replied putting her hand on Sasha's head. "I am too." Kitty said hugging Mr. Squiggles. "We all are." Abby replied. "OK then, lets move out."Danielle said walking toward the door. "Wait, just in case not all of us makes it through this, I want a picture." Megan said holding a camera in her hand. "OK." Danielle said walking back over. The girls and Sasha all grouped together and waited for Megan. Megan set the camera to timer then quickly joined the group. The camera clicked then took the picture. "OK, now we can go." Megan said putting the camera in her pocket. The girls and Sasha all exited the house then followed Danielle's lead along side the road.

"Where are we heading Danielle?" Kitty asked. "Back to the school." Danielle replied. The girls looked at each other and Sasha whined. "Danielle, you know were gonna just be walking right into a trap. Right?" Miranda asked. "Yeah but what other choice do we have? We have today and tomorrow to decide Maggi's fate. So for now we head for the school." Danielle answered. "Alright." Miranda replied. An hour passed as the group still made there way back toward the school.

"We've been walking for hours. My feet hurt." Kitty complained. "We've only been walking for an hour. Here I'll carry you." Megan replied picking her up.

"I'm doing better with the walking now, thanks to Sasha." Gabby said. "And me! I've been behind you helping the whole time!" Miranda yelled. "OK, I do admit you have been helping. But cant I dream?" Gabby asked. "You'll be able to walk normally soon after this apocalypse thing has ended." Miranda replied. "Alright. I hate the whole limp idea." Gabby said. "Well if you don't limp then I'll have to carry you. Would you like that better?" Miranda asked. "No, I stick to limping then." Gabby answered.
