Chapter 11: A Zombie gift

Ryan woke to a burst of sunlight in his face. He sat up and looked around startled. Gabby and Miranda were still asleep in the left corner of the room. Alex and Micheal also were still asleep in the right corner of the room. Danielle was fast asleep in the middle of the room next to an empty  space where Megan had slept. Ryan searched the room for Megan. Megan sat next to a window, looking out of it.

Ryan got up and walked over to her. "What are you doing up?" Ryan asked. "Couldn't sleep." Megan answered. "Neither could I." Ryan said sitting down next to her. "I cant believe that today were gonna end the Apocalypse. It just doesn't seem real." Megan said. "Don't worry, your not dreaming." Ryan said. "I certainly hope not." Megan replied. "I could pinch you. Would that help?" Ryan asked. "Maybe..." Megan replied smiling. "OK, there. You happy?" Ryan asked. "Well, I'm awake, and I'm with my friends, so I guess I am happy." Megan replied. "Yeah, I'm happy too." Ryan said.

"Megan? Where did you go? Oh, I'm not interrupting anything am I?" Danielle asked awkwardly. "No, we were just talking." Ryan replied. "Oh, OK then. Help me wake the others up. We should go as soon as possible." Danielle said. "Alright." Megan replied. "We can talk more later." Ryan said. "OK, I look forward to it." Megan replied.

Ryan went over to Alex and Micheal to wake them. Megan walked over to Danielle and helped her. "Are you sure nothing's going on between you and Ryan?" Danielle asked quietly. "Well now that you mention it, I do kinda like him." Megan responded. "Isn't he like 8 years older than you?" Danielle asked. "No, he's 4 years older." Megan replied. "We'll talk about this later." Danielle said. "Fine." Megan replied.

"Gabby wake up. Were gonna go soon." Danielle said shaking Gabby's arm. "Miranda wake up. You have to get up." Megan said shaking her. "I'm up. Just give me a minute." Miranda replied.

"Gabby. Gabs wake up." Danielle repeated. "I am up." Gabby replied. "You don't look like you are. What's up?" Danielle asked. "What do you mean?" Gabby asked. "I know when somethings wrong. So tell me whats bothering you." Danielle replied. "I still feel responsible for losing Maggi." Gabby answered. "Well don't. It wasn't your fault, so don't blame yourself." Danielle said. "But it is my fault." Gabby replied. "Nope. I don't want to hear it. Got it?" Danielle asked. "Yeah." Gabby replied. "Alright, its time to get up. We'll be leaving soon." Danielle said. "OK." Gabby replied.

"The boys are up." Ryan said walking over to Danielle. "We should eat breakfast then get ready to go." Danielle said. "I'll find breakfast for us." Miranda replied. "I will too." Ryan said. "The kitchen is that way. Get to it." Megan replied. Miranda and Ryan left the room.

"Well I am officially bored." Micheal said. "How about we play a game." Gabby replied. "Yeah we can play guess a Pokemon game." Alex said. "Sure." Danielle replied.

"OK I'll start out easy. I'm yellow with red cheeks, and I have a lightning bolt for a tail. Who am I?" Alex asked. "That's beyond easy. Its Pikachu." Gabby answered. "Correct, your turn." Alex replied. "OK, lets see....ah I'm orange with a tan under belly, and the tip of my tail is on fire. Who am I?" Gabby asked. "That's easy. Your charmander." Danielle answered. "Yeppers." Gabby replied. "OK, I'm blue, I have a beak, I say my name a lot, and its my friends favorite Pokemon. Who am I?" Danielle asked. "PIPLUP!!!" Megan yelled. "That's correct." Danielle replied smiling. "My turn. I'm green, I have vines and I have a green flower on my back. Who am I?" Megan asked. "Bulbasaur." Micheal answered. "Yep." Megan replied. "I'm brown, I have six tails and I use fire abilities. Who am I?" Micheal asked. "Your a vulpix. That's my favorite Pokemon!" Gabby replied.

"No fair! I was gonna guess that!" Alex yelled. "Well I said it first!" Gabby shouted. "Breakfast is served!" Miranda shouted entering the room.

"What are we having?" Micheal asked. "Bread and milk that hopefully didn't go bad." Ryan replied. "Bread and milk?" Gabby asked. "Yeah, sorry. That's all we could find." Miranda answered. "Its fine. I like breadand milk." Gabby lied.
