Myles' pov
After school, I get my mum to drop me off at the hospital so I can see Briar. I arrive at the front desk.
"Briar Nolet." I say.
"Room 13." The receptionist says.
"Thanks." I say and walk towards room 13.
When I get there, I expect to see Briar awake but she isn't. She's still unconscious. No one is with her. Not even her parents. Oh yeah, they don't care about her. I'll be the one to stay with her. I sit down on her bed.
"Hey Bri. I've really messed things up. It's my fault that you're here now. If I hadn't kissed Abi, we wouldn't be in this mess. I'm really sorry. I know you can't hear me but I'm breaking up with Abi." I say and stroke her hair.
I really miss her. I miss the way she'd snuggle up to me when she was scared, when she hugged me and the way she smiled at me. I miss everything about her. I just want her to be ok. Please be ok Briar.
Suddenly my phone pings and I see it's a text from Abi.
A- Hey babe 😘👅
M- Hi.
A- Where are you? You're supposed to be at my house remember 👅
M- I'm at the hospital.
A- What happened to my baby?
M- Nothing.
A- So why are you at the hospital?
M- I'm here with Briar.
A- That dork? Why?
M- Because I love her, not you. I know what you and Lexi did to her, I was the one that found her.
A- I haven't done anything.
M- So why did you walk into class late? Why did Lexi have blood on her shirt? Why did I find Briar covered in blood? The evidence all points to you two. Our relationship is over. Never talk to me again.
A- Fine it was me and Lexi. But babe I love you.
M- I hate you. You made me lose the thing I love most.
A- Me?
M- Briar.
And with that, I deleted her contact. I look at Briar then place my head in my hands. I know that physically, it wasn't my fault but mentally, it was. I see Briar's phone go off. Of course she has her phone, when doesn't she? I look at it and see she has a text from Abi. I unlock her phone and read their conversation. (Before the incident).
A- You're so ugly no wander Myles left you.
B- Please leave me alone.
A- Lol no. You're so defenceless, it's easy to pick on you.
B- Abi please stop.
A- No! Tomorrow you'll get a shock.
That was sent yesterday. That 'shock' she was going to give Briar, was this. I hate Abi so much.
"I'm sorry Bri." I say and bury my head in my hands.
"Myles?"
