It's a heart racing, quick breathing, spine-tingling, butterflies-in-your-stomach
kind of love.

::::

I stood in the foyer, slipping my shoes onto my feet. Luke rolled my suitcase over towards me, a concerned look still etched across his face like it had been for the last fifteen minutes.

"Are you sure you'll be fine with the boys?" I asked.

Luke nodded quickly. "Yes, you need to go. Your family is more important."

"Yes, but y'all are very important too." I said.

Luke smiled softly. "I made it work for two years without a woman around, I think I can spare the few days or however long you'll be gone without you."

I sighed. "I'm scared Luke."

Luke looked back behind his shoulders before quickly wrapping me in a tight hug. "I know you are, you just gotta have faith. As my Momma always says, don't worry bout' nothing, pray about everything."

Inhaling sharply, I buried my head deeper into the crook of Luke's neck. "It's just that I don't know what's going on and that really scares me. What if Amy is in critical condition or the baby is at high risk of something."

I pulled my head up and Luke unwrapped his arms from around me. He gently lifted my chin with his finger so I was looking up towards him. "You know, Tate was a high-risk pregnancy. I know what you're going through. It scared the living daylights out of me when Chelsea's water broke but she didn't go into labor in a timely fashion. They had to induce her labor for fear of her or the baby getting an infection."

I frowned. "I'm so sorry Luke."

He shrugged. "Tate's perfectly okay." He sighed and continued. "I wish I could come with you to be there for you."

"I don't think that would be a good idea." I whispered.

His eyes fell to the floor. "I know, I know. Just be safe okay. Keep me updated."

"I will," I promised.

Luke then cupped my face and placed a firm kiss upon my lips, I melted into him just like last night. My knees felt weak and my heart pounded on my chest. This man... how'd I ever deserve him?

I placed my hand on his chest and looked away before glancing back up at him. "Wow," I breathed.

"I don't think I'll ever get used to that feeling of kissing you," Luke whispered.

"You feel it too?" I asked.

He nodded. "I love you, Carol, now go be with your family. Call me when you're in Georgia."

"I love you too Luke. I promise you I will."

With that, I headed to my car and was on the road, south to Georgia as quick as I could. No more than a little into the drive, my phone pinged. Glancing quickly down towards the screen at a red light, I noticed Luke had texted me.

Drive safe. I love you to the moon and back.

A grin formed on my lips and I reverted my attention back to the miles of blacktop in front of me. I switched on the radio and turned the dial up slightly, realizing it was an interview.
